Paris City Passes Compared

BOOK MY TOUR!
Updated: Februar 21, 2024

One of the most common questions our tour guides are asked is whether or not these money-saving passes are worth the price.

Everyone wants to save money on their travel activities, but these services can have pretty high upfront costs which makes tourists wary.

This post reviews and compares the various Paris city passes, tourist attraction cards, and bus and boat combination tickets to help you choose the right one for you.

BEFORE YOU BUY

There are a lot of different tourist attraction passes you can get in Paris. Let's cover the various types of attraction passes that are available.

With more than 1 million tours provided, Free Tours By Foot is very familiar with the types of attractions visitors might want to see in Paris, and these services are a great way to save money on some of the most popular tickets.

That said, not every traveler is going to find each of these passes helpful, so we've also provided information about things to consider before buying a tourist pass.

All-Inclusive

This type of tourist pass will allow you to visit several notable sites, and attractions, and enjoy multiple tours.

You can expect admission for dozens of popular activities to be included with the price of the pass.

Paris City Passes All Inclusive

Passes are available for between 2-6 days, allowing you to enjoy whichever activity you wish at your leisure without worrying about purchasing individual tickets.

One all-inclusive pass also includes the Museum Pass (see below).

Prepackaged Pass

Unlike the All-Inclusive Pass, this option will allow you to pay one price for a specific package of attractions and tours.

These passes usually include fewer activities, but they are also a lot more affordable.

Paris Passlib

If you can find a pass that features Paris attractions and services you intend to use while visiting Paris, this may be a better option.

Go Paris Explorer Pass

This pass is sold by the number of attractions you wish to see rather than the number of days you want a pass.

This pass is sold in increments of 3, 5, or 7 attractions.

Pick Your Attractions Tourist Paris City Pass

You pick your attractions from a list of 19 offerings, many of which are the most popular in Paris.

By purchasing a pass rather than each attraction individually, you can save quite a bit of money on the total cost of your sightseeing.

Museum Pass

This tourist pass is fairly self-explanatory, in that it provides access to dozens of different museums in Paris.

Some monuments and landmarks are also typically included with this type of pass.

You can purchase the Museum Pass for between 2-6 days at a time, allowing you to visit each included location at your leisure.

ALL-INCLUSIVE PASSES

The following tourist passes will allow you to visit a wide variety of attractions for one flat price.

Rather than paying for individual tickets, you'll pay for a pass that is valid for a total of 2-6 days.

This section will provide information about each all-inclusive pass available in Paris and the details you should consider before purchasing.

Things to Consider

The more time you spend in Paris, the better your chances are of enjoying the great value provided by this tourist pass.

If you’re planning on spending a week in the city of love, the 6-day pass will be an excellent option.

Over 6 days, you should be able to visit and experience pretty much every significant attraction that you want to see with the help of this service.

Additionally, you’ll also get access to what they call “Fast Track Entry.

Skip the ticket lines at locations such as The Louvre Museum, The Orsay Museum, Centre Pompidou, and the Grevin Wax Museum.

If you plan on seeing as much of the city as possible, the Paris Pass is an excellent value.

Considering that attractions like the Eiffel Tower and Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour are each €45 on their own, it's easy to see how you could save money just by using the Paris Pass once or twice per day.

The 6-day pass is less than €50 per day, so you're already saving money just using it for one major attraction or tour each day.

However, if you’re only planning on discovering a few select locations, you might want to consider a prepackaged pass where the attractions have already been chosen for you.

If you're wondering what happened to the official Paris Pass, look no further. Go City used to be a different service, but they have since consolidated the Paris Pass into their company.

Paris City Pass

by TURBOPASS

Paris Turbo Pass ReviewThe Paris City Pass is the same concept as the Paris Pass above.

You choose the number of days and gain access to any of the attractions and tours included in the pass.

The Paris City Pass does not offer as many attractions, hence the slightly lower price.

It does, however, include the Paris Visite Travelcard that offers free, unlimited travel via bus, metro, trams, and RER within Zone 1-3.

You’ll find that many of the Paris tourist passes include similar offerings, so it’s important to choose the pass that offers the activities that interest you the most.

This pass may not have the most options, but if you aren’t interested in the extra attractions and perks available with other sightseeing passes, that shouldn’t be a problem.

NOTE: As of November 2023, this pass now includes the Paris Museum Pass at no extra cost!

Things to Consider

When you factor in the exchange rate, the Turbo Pass is a lot more affordable than the Paris Sightseeing Pass.

Although it may seem like they don’t offer as much, the reality is that this pass provides free entry into at least 50+ attractions in and around Paris.

You’ll also receive free transportation on the Metro and Buses, making it much easier to get around the city with ease.

Much like their competition, this pass also includes what they call “skip-the-line” entry at locations such as The Louvre Museum, The Orsay Museum, and Centre Pompidou.

This tourist pass also comes with a free map of the city center and will be delivered to your house before you leave for vacation.

This service offers almost everything you’d get with their competitors at a much lower cost.

If you find similar tourist passes to be a bit overwhelming, this might be a good alternative that will still provide plenty of activities and entertainment while you’re in the city of love.

PARIS FAST PASS

NOTE: As of February 2024, this pass is not available.

This pass is very similar to other all-inclusive options in that it provides access to more than 50 different attractions for one low price.

In addition to fast-track admission to locations such as the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, and the Palace of Versailles, you'll also receive a free hop-on-hop-off bus tour and a free cruise on the river Seine.

The main difference you will notice between the Paris Fast Pass and its competitors is that they do not offer a public transport pass.

Purchase or learn more about the Paris Fast Pass.

Things to Consider

Unlike their competitors, the Paris Fast Pass is only available for up to 4 days.

If you're looking to spend more time seeing the sites in Paris, you may want to consider one of the other pass options.

That being said, this is undoubtedly the most affordable all-inclusive pass on our list, and it includes a lot of the same attractions that you will find on both the Turbo Pass and the Paris Pass.

PREPACKAGED PASSES

These passes are an excellent option for anyone who feels a bit overwhelmed with some of the other passes we've mentioned where you have so many choices and options.

Although you won’t have access to nearly as many attractions, you’ll still enjoy a variety of adventures while traveling throughout the city.

PARIS CITY CARD

Not to be confused with the Paris City Pass above, the Paris City Card is a bare-bones attraction card that includes a few items, but ones that you may have been planning to visit anyway

By bundling these items into a pass, you will save some money and you also get 10% off on many other attractions.

The pass includes

  • Admission to the Eiffel Tower
  • Skip-the-line entrance to the Louvre Museum
  • Free ticket for a Seine Cruise
  • City of Paris Audio Tour
  • 10% off other popular attractions

Prices as of 2023

  • Adult | €82
  • Youth (under 26) | €59
  • Youth (4-10) | €54
  • Free for Kids under 4
  • Purchase here.

Things to Consider

This Pass is best for people who are planning to visit the specific attractions included and like the convenience of having your pass before you even arrive in Paris.

This is also a great pass for pre-planners - with your 10% off savings, you can purchase tickets to other attractions before boarding the plane!

The downside is that if you aren't interested in the attractions included, this pass is not for you.

Paris Passlib' Explore+ Prices as of 2024:

Things to Consider

Although you could easily spend an entire day exploring the city of Paris with a cruise on the Seine and a sightseeing bus tour, it’s worth noting that the very affordable mini pass does not include access to many attractions such as The Louvre or The Arc De Triomphe.

You will receive entrance to these locations and many others with the help of a prestige pass, but at that level, you’re basically paying more than you would for the Turbo Pass.

If you’re not interested in paying for access to over 50 different museums at once, the mini pass might be a great deal for basic sightseeing.

Depending on how you want to approach your vacation, this might be a better opportunity than going for a more expensive pass.

However, at the higher end with the Explore and Prestige Pass, you might be paying more than you would for an all-inclusive alternative.

Another thing to consider is how much extra time it will take to consider which activities or attractions you want to use the Paris Passlib' to enjoy.

If you want to get the best deal and the most out of your pass, you'll have to compare prices for each activity and figure out what the best configuration is for your needs.

That process will take time, and it will mean planning out how you use the pass well ahead of time.

If you're more interested in a spontaneous approach to travel and tourism, this isn't going to be the best pass for you.

Paris Seine Pass

Like the Paris City Card, this pass also covers the costs of a few specific activities at one low price, and it includes extra savings on additional attractions, tours, museums, and other locations you might want to visit in the city.

Bundling all of these items will save you both time and money. If you want to avoid paying for individual tickets, this is a great option!

This pass includes

  • Admission to Musee d'Orsay
  • Aperitif Cruise on the river Seine
  • Priority Admission to Sainte Chapelle
  • 10% off additional attractions in Paris

Prices in 2024

  • Adult | €47
  • EU (under 26) | €28
  • Youth (12-17) | €18
  • Children (4-11) | €10
  • Free for Kids under 4
  • Not currently available as of February 2024.

Things to Consider

The amount you'll save with this pass depends on how you use the extra 10% off on other activities.

One of the nice things about this prepackaged service is that it's one of the more affordable options on our list.

Another factor to keep in mind is that you can also add a glass of champagne or wine to your Aperitif Cruise for an additional €2 - €5 per pass.

Considering most competitors only offer the bare minimum when it comes to tickets, this additional opportunity to customize your experience is a nice touch.

Paris Exhibition Pass

This tourist pass provides access to some of the most popular museums in Paris, including some you won't find on other passes.

Like many other prepackaged options, you can also take advantage of an additional 10% off on other attractions and activities.

As the name implies, this pass focuses more on the exhibitions at each location providing special access to certain exhibits that might be off-limits to those who only purchase general admission.

The pass includes

  • Premium Access to Foundation Louis Vuitton
  • Access to the Baselitz Exhibition and Permanent Collection at Centre Pompidou
  • Skip-the-line tickets to Musee Marmottan Monet
  • 10% off other attractions and museums

Prices

  • Adult | €46
  • Youth (7-17) | €34
  • Children (3-6) | €22
  • Not available as of February 2024.

Things to Consider

Although some of the museums included with this service are also on other tourist passes, you might find that some of their competitors only offer the basic level of tickets, which means you might not have access to everything in the museum.

What sets this pass apart is its premium level of access to attractions such as Foundation Louis Vuitton and Centre Pompidou.

If you're interested in seeing as many of these museums as possible, this pass is a must.

Paris Family Fun Pass

Whether you've got an extra day in Paris or you just want one pass for a handful of fun activities you can enjoy with your family, this tourist pass provides access to three of the most popular attractions in the city.

In addition to the tickets included with this service, they also offer an additional 10% off other museums, tours, and other things to do with your family in Paris.

This pass includes

  • Admission to Paris Zoo
  • Admission to the Grevin Wax Museum
  • Skip-the-line tickets to Grande Galerie de l'Evolution
  • 10% off on additional attractions and activities

Prices as of 2024

  • Adult | €51
  • Youth (13-15) | €44
  • Children (5-12) | €40
  • Children (3-4) | €22

Things to Consider

At its base level, you won't be saving much money with this pass.

That said, you could end up saving a decent amount depending on how you use the extra 10% off available.

The main advantage of this service is its inclusion of several popular activities for a lower cost than usual.

If you're interested in visiting these attractions anyway, this might be a good deal.

GO CITY PARIS EXPLORER PASS

This pass is great for someone who likes flexibility and has a longer amount of time for sightseeing.

With this pass, you don’t have to choose in advance which attractions you want to see or what days you’ll visit them (except for the Eiffel Tower, in which you must choose a time slot in advance).

One of the best new attractions added for 2024 is Disneyland Paris.

This is one of the cheapest ways to get tickets for this attraction, and availability is selling out weeks in advance, so we recommend getting your pass at least a month ahead of time.

Go City Logo (2023). Image Source: GoCity.com.

The pass is valid for 30 days from the date you activate it by visiting the first attraction so you’ll have more time to use your pass at your leisure.

This flexibility also extends to their policy that if your plans change and you no longer need this pass, as long as it has not been activated.

The Go City Paris Explorer Pass is available in digital form. This simply means that your pass provides a unique QR code that acts as your ticket.

Once you have completed your purchase, you will receive an email with the QR Code image.

You can either print up the email or for ease, simply show the mobile pass on your mobile device when visiting attractions.

Sample Itinerary

Although this isn't the same as an all-inclusive pass, it might still be a bit difficult to figure out whether or not this pass is going to save you any money.

That's why we made this example itinerary for a 4 attraction Explorer Pass to show you how big your savings could be!

  • Eiffel Tower Guided Tour | €46
  • Big Bus Hop-on Hop-off Tour | €45
  • Louvre Ultimate Experience | €41
  • Champs-Elysees Tour + Arc de Triomphe | €41

Total Value: €173

Total Cost: €149

Total Savings: €24 (14%)

Things to Consider

Prices for this pass recently increased significantly, but the reason for that is that they have added admission to Disneyland Paris.

This is one of the most popular (and expensive) attractions in the city, so it makes sense to increase the cost.

While the result is that you'll pay more per attraction, it should be noted that a ticket to Disneyland Paris typically costs up to 99 € at the gate on its own, and that's the entire price of their 3 attraction pass!

All you would have to do is use the pass for one other activity and you'd be saving money.

This is an excellent option for anyone planning to visit the historic amusement park, and it's a no-brainer given that you're paying the same price as a ticket to Disneyland Paris and receiving 2 additional activities for free!

PARIS MUSEUM PASS

Although it is offered with almost every tourist pass we have already mentioned, it’s worth noting that you can purchase the Paris Museum Pass individually.

If you’ve already taken care of travel expenses and you don’t want to go on a bus tour of the city, you may want to avoid one of the more costly options on this list and simply pick up the Museum Pass instead.

As previously mentioned, this pass guarantees entrance into over 60 different museums in the city.

Depending on how many of these attractions interest you, this could be a great deal!

The Paris Museum Pass is sold in increments of 2 days, 4 days, or 6 days (days are consecutive), so you have options to dedicate a short time or a long time to enjoy all the museums included.

Just some of the museums/attractions included.

  • Arc de Triomphe
  • Centre Pompidou
  • Conciergerie
  • The Louvre
  • Notre-Dame
  • Sainte-Chapelle
  • Pantheon
  • Rodin Museum
  • Gustave Moreau Museum
  • And many more!

Prices as of February 2024

Additional Information

Considering that it provides access to more than 60 museums and historic sites around the city, it’s almost like you’re paying €1 for entry into each area.

With the use of this pass, you’ll also be able to skip the line at several different locations.

NOTE: The Paris Museum Pass is now included on both the Go City Paris All-Inclusive Pass and the Paris Turbo Pass at no extra cost!

Things to Consider

A big plus is that it is much easier to have one pass to use at all the many museums rather than having to wait in line to purchase individual tickets wherever you go.

It's important to note that the days of use for the Pass are consecutive and are based on calendar days.

So for example, if you begin using your Pass at 14:00, that day will be considered as Day 1, even though you started midday.

Get an early start if you want to make the most of your pass.

It’s also worth noting that many of the museums in Paris offer free entrance to children and young adults, so they may not need a Museum Pass.

This might not be the case at every single location you want to visit, so it could still be in your best interest to obtain a tourist pass for younger visitors.

While the Go City Paris All-Inclusive Pass offers access to a wide range of over 75 attractions and activities, the Paris Museum Pass is more specialized, focusing on entry to over 60 museums.

The Museum Pass used to be included in the Paris Pass but it is no longer part of that service as of February 16th, 2023.

OTHER DEALS

In addition to all of the tourist passes available in Paris, you will also find several deals on popular attractions and activities throughout the city.

These deals are similar to the prepackaged passes in that they feature a few different services for one low price.

In this section, we will provide information about various combo packages that will allow you to save some money.

We also include a section on Transport Passes. These passes include only transportation throughout Paris.

If you've already paid for the various attractions you want to visit, this could be a good way to save money on getting around the city.

BUS TOUR COMBOS

These combo deals combine a hop-on-hop-off bus tour with other activities such as a cruise, a night tour, or even admission to popular attractions like the Louvre and the Picasso Museum.

Whether you're looking for a better deal on these types of services or you just want to make sure that you've got your tickets ahead of time, this is a pretty good alternative to some Paris attraction passes.

For more information on these options, make sure to read the combo package section of our post about Paris Bus Tours.

COMBO TICKET OPTIONS

Some of the combination deals included feature attractions such as dinner at the Eiffel Tower, a cruise on the river Seine, bike tours, and more.

These combo deals are a great way to save money on the specific services you intend to use while in Paris.

Paris Visite Transport Pass

This is not an attractions pass, but rather a transportation pass that can save you time, money, and aggravation.

If you are looking for a convenient way to get around the city without having to deal with buying tickets each time, the Paris Visite Pass is a lifesaver.

This pass offers unlimited travel on the bus, metro, tramway, and RER networks in Paris and its suburbs.

Unless you plan on renting a vehicle or using a cab to get around, this is a great way to save money and avoid the necessity of exact change on public transportation.

NOTE: This pass is already included in the Paris Pass, Turbopass, and Multi-Day Passlib, so if you are buying one of those, you won't need to purchase this separately.

Things to Consider

Even if you have no intention of picking up any of the other tourist passes on this page, you might still want to consider purchasing the Visite Pass simply to get around town.

You could save money by purchasing some of these passes individually.

You won’t have access to the free river cruise and bus tour offered through the Turbo Pass, but some visitors might consider that a bonus.

If you have no interest in some of the benefits provided through the other services on this list, avoid the bundles and just pick up this transportation pass instead.

Paris Rides Pass

NOTE: As of February 2024, this pass is not currently available.

Unlike the Visite Pass, this service offers more than just public transportation. The Paris Rides Pass includes a hop-on-hop-off bus tour and a Seine River cruise.

Depending on which one you get, your transport pass will include a bus tour, a cruise, and unlimited access to the public bus, metro, tramway, and RER networks.

Alternatively, you can get a version of the Paris Rides Pass which only provides the bus tour and the cruise.

Things to Consider

Aside from the fact that this transport pass includes a bus tour and a cruise, the other huge difference between this option and the Visite pass is the length of service.

While the Visite Pass can be used for up to 5 days, even the best Paris Rides Pass will limit you to only 2 days of use.

If you plan on traveling around the city for at least a week, you may want to think about one of the other options in this post.

Tips From Locals and Travelers

While we do our best to give travelers an idea of what to expect from services like these, you can often get an even better idea of how these passes work by reading a Paris Travel Tips group on Facebook.

Tourists tend to use these groups to ask questions of locals and those who have visited Paris, and they often have a lot of very helpful information that you might not have previously known.

As this traveler notes, the value of the Go City All-Inclusive Paris Pass is often dependent upon how you plan to use it.

If you're willing to calculate the costs and plan an itinerary, you could save a lot of money, but a lot of tourists will find that it's not worth it for them.

Although the Museum Pass tends to be pretty popular among users of these Facebook Groups, Lily notes that it might not be worth it if you're only in Paris for a short while.

She also points out that this pass does not give you skip-the-line access, which means you'll have to wait in line to get into the museums with this pass.

That said, another user made an excellent point as well, explaining that at some museums, you'll have to wait in line no matter what you do!

If you have any other questions about these passes, we recommend checking the Paris Travel Tips groups on Facebook for more advice and suggestions.
