4. A Sightseeing Tour

After the New Year’s crowds dissipate, January is a perfect off-season time to take a sightseeing tour with smaller tour groups.

5. Attend a Great Gatsby Party

Fitting in well with the Art Deco Weekend is an amazing Roaring 20's event that channels "the exuberance, decadence, and spirit of revelry" of that decade.

You'll find live music, burlesque stars, aerialists, dancers, showgirls, and so much more.

There are VIP tickets that offer early access to certain experiences, including reserved seating with view of the main stage.

The fun takes place January 12th, and 13th at the Alfred I. Dupont Building.

7. Attend an Arts Festival

The newly renamed Miami Brickell Art Festival (formerly the Miami/Coral Gables Art & Mega Festival) takes place January 27th–28th.

You'll find fine arts, crafts, fashion, food, drink, and plenty of other ways to be entertained.

8.  Santa’s Enchanted Forest in Tropical Park

It isn't too late to visit the largest holiday theme park in the world! A visit here is the best way to experience ‘a holiday winter’ in Miami.

There are over 100 rides, shows, and activities, and of course, the winter forest.

9. Celebrate Art Deco Weekend

The architectural history of Miami is inextricably tied to the Art Deco movement, so it makes sense that the Miami Design Preservation League celebrates Art Deco Weekend.

You can usually look forward to dozens of fun activities and events, including walking tours, car shows, street fairs, live music, and more.

The 46th Annual Art Deco Weekend will take place from January 12th to the 14th. Visit the Art Deco Weekend website for more information.

11. Cheer on or Run the Miami Marathon

Calling all runners! This is arguably the biggest annual fitness event in Miami, with over 20,000 runners from all 50 states and over 80 countries each year.

The marathon takes place January 29th, starting in Downtown Miami, crossing over into South Beach, and coming back again to Downtown where the race finishes.


Even if you're not a runner, being a spectator for the event is a really fun experience. And it's free!

12. Watch the King Mango Strut Parade

Every year, locals and visitors come out to watch or partake in this unique and wacky parade in Coconut Grove.

The parade was started by rejects from the King Orange Bowl Parade.

Floats and costumes parody current events and pop culture. 

The parade starts at the corner of Main Highway and Commodore Plaza and winds its way through the streets of the eclectic Coconut Grove neighborhood.

The parade takes place on January 7th at 2:00 p.m. Be sure to go early to get a good viewing spot. See here for more details.
