A light sweater or sweatshirt may be needed briefly for a few of the chillier late nights and mornings. 

In addition, some jeans and perhaps a pair of cowboy boots are recommended. 

An umbrella is a plus for rainy days and don’t forget a good pair of walking shoes for your visit as the downtown district is hilly, so comfortable footwear is a must.

It will be mostly sunny throughout the month of August, making this an excellent time of year to consider taking a pay-what-you-wish walking tour in Nashville.

If you're looking to beat the heat, chances are there will be more than a few concerts to attend at the historic Grand Ole Opry House or Ryman Auditorium.

You can also visit Nashville Zoo with your kids which is an amazing option to spend your day in warmer months.

For those willing to brave the warm weather, the Nashville Sounds should have plenty of games to attend in August. Fans of baseball will appreciate the chance to see some of the best talent in the minor leagues before they make their way to the MLB!
