1) Attend a Concert

Philadelphia is home to multiple great music and event venues. This means there will be several great artists and bands here this April.

Spend an evening cheering on one of Philadelphia’s pro sports teams. April is a great time to catch the end of the NHL and NBA regular-season games. If the MLB manages to avoid a lock out, April will also be the beginning of the Phillies baseball season!

4) See a Stand-up Comedy Performance

There will be a lot of great comics performing in Philadelphia this month, and a few famous comedians are going to be doing shows just down the road in Bensalem, PA.

If you're willing to travel about 20 minutes outside of the city, you'll open yourself up to even more opportunities to enjoy a good laugh in April!

5) Take a Sightseeing Tour

If you're a fan of motorsports, chances are you're quite familiar with Monster Jam. This show features a variety of monster trucks competing in several different events including racing and stunt driving.

Visitors can expect to see popular monster trucks such as Bigfoot, Grave Digger, Kraken, Wrecking Machine, Blue Thunder, and many others. Ticket holders will have the opportunity to vote on which trucks performed the best!

8) Take the Kids to Disney Princess: The Concert

In addition to all the concerts taking place this month, there will also be a special family themed concert for families featuring some of the most popular music from various Disney Princesses.

If you're looking for a fun event for your young daughters, this could be an excellent option. Alternatively, with Mother's Day coming up in early May, this might make for a great gift for the mothers in your life!

9) African American History & Cultural Showcase

This FREE event at the Philadelphia Convention Center features activities and exhibits that celebrate the important role African Americans have played throughout the history of the United States, as well as to contemporary culture.

Expect to find documentaries, never-before-seen exhibits, performances, and appearances from living legends including Tuskegee Airmen.

The showcase will be held on April 23rd and 24th from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm.

10) Grab a Bite During King of Prussia Restaurant Week

With $15-$25 lunches and $30-$50 dinners, you can try the eclectic fixed-price meals at while donating to a good cause.

All Restaurant Week participating establishments are raising money for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) King of Prussia Specialty Care Center.

There are over 20 different options to choose from during April 4th - 10th.


11) Check out a Film Festival

Philadelphia Environmental Film Festival

Celebrate Earth Day weekend with a program of cutting-edge films from around the world that raise environmental awareness and inspire action.

The festival takes place at the historic Prince Theater, home to the Philadelphia Film Center on the Avenue of the Arts, from March 31st - Apr 3rd.

UNCONFIRMED: Celebrate Easter with a Parade

The FREE annual Easter tradition is celebrating its 91st year. Head to the South Street Headhouse District in your Easter finest and join the parade with the whole family.

Of course, special guests Mr. and Mrs. Cottontail will be available for photos, and you can expect Easter treats on hand.

Enjoy live music from the Philadelphia Freedom Band and Bunny Hop, and be sure to enter the best-dressed contest - there are categories for adults, kids, and even pets!

UNCONFIRMED: Philadelphia Science Festival

The nine-day Philadelphia Science Festival boasts more than 80 events around the city with hands-on science fun for kids and adults in April.

The festival is hosted by the Franklin Institute, and events take place at the museum and throughout the city. Expect to find a lecture on the science of distilling, a neighborhood science crawl and a citywide sky party.

There are kid-friendly events, like Science After School, as well as adult cocktail parties.

UNCONFIRMED: Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia

Celebrate all things Japan at the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival. The festival centers around the hundreds of cherry blossom trees in Fairmont Park that were a gift from the people of Japan in 1926.

The highlight of the festival is Sakura Sunday at the Fairmont Park Horticulture Center in April, which features activities, entertainment, and contemporary Japanese culture.

UNCONFIRMED: Philly Wine Week

We can’t think of a better way to welcome spring than with a toast (or several) during Philly Wine Cru (formerly Philly Wine Week).

With more than 50 venues participating across the city, there are plenty of opportunities for experts and novices - think wine pairing dinners, tastings, and even wine trivia.

Events range from casual to upscale, so keep an eye out for venues that strike your fancy. Some events require advance tickets.
