JENN | Manager & Tour Guide

Jenn is a born Jersey girl that grew up "across the Ben" but has Philly in her heart and history in her blood. Went to Washington & Jefferson College in the Pittsburgh area. Yes her college mascots were two guys in white wigs! Came back to Philly to get her M.A. in Museum Studies. Happily worked at the city history museum but has come outside for some fresh air as a tour guide. She has traveled to France, Northern Italy, Spain and Japan, survived Mardi Gras, and currently has a bad case of wanderlust!

When not giving a tour, she is either hanging upside down in Aerial Yoga class, Mumming with her second family Golden Sunrise NYA, talking someone's ear off about what ever her latest passion is, or haunting the halls of Philadelphia's rich and ample museums and libraries.

Philadelphia Tour Guides Marianne

MARIANNE | Tour Guide

Marianne: As a writer with a degree in film production who now works as a tour guide, Marianne considers herself a professional storyteller! She started out studying Russian history, which honed her ability to find the humorous (albeit often dark and twisted) behind the facts.

After living in Washington, DC, Novosibirsk and Moscow (Russia), Miami, and L.A., she is now back in her home state of Pennsylvania, in her beloved William Penn's Philadelphia. She absolutely loves sharing stories about the founders of the nation - their bravery, their brilliance, their quirks! Her goal is to bring the past alive and make it relevant today while showing off her wonderful, revitalized city.

Philadelphia Tour Guides Toni

TONI | Tour Guide

Toni is a long time Philadelphia resident. She is a Certified Tour Guide and a member of the Philadelphia Tour Guide Association. She is very proud of her Revolutionary War ancestor as well as her membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. How could she not be interested in history? She has been giving tours as a docent and tour guide in Philadelphia for over 20 years.

Meeting people from the world over and showing off this great city is her passion. Toni is a long time Scuba Dive Master and volunteers at Adventure Aquarium right across the river in Camden, NJ. She has an unusual background starting out as a Commercial Pilot (retired) and ending her aviation career graduating as an Aviation Maintenance Technician.

JOSH | Tour Guide

Josh Arnolde is a local Philly Actor, Writer and History Buff who has lived in Philadelphia for the last 8 years.  Josh loves to use his experience in storytelling to weave a compelling narrative out of the city's colonial era history, and share all of the charms his city has to offer.

Also a passionate world traveler, Josh thrills at the chance to be an ambassador to his city of Philadelphia, telling of its unique place in the fabric of history and in the world today compared to the many destinations worth visiting around the globe.

Josh also discusses history, philosophy and life as one of two hosts of the podcast Whiskey Talk, a podcast on Whiskey and being alive, which airs each Wednesday at www.Whiskey-Talk.com, and on most podcast services.

Philadelphia Tour Guides Richard

RICHARD | Tour Guide

Native to the Philadelphia region, Rich is fiercely proud of his town and only too happy to tell you why. He loves a good story and, of course, Philly is full of them.

Spoiler alert: his favorite Philly person is Ben Franklin. Rich did his studies at Temple University and in Rome, which he considers his second home. He recently left a career in advertising to pursue his love of the past and art. In addition to leading walks through our historic and cultural areas, he also conducts mural tours.

As a guide he merges what he knows into one terrific narrative. In fact, he admires a well-told story above almost anything else.

Visitor Tip: When ordering our famous sandwich, please do not ask for a “Philly” cheesesteak…you are already here! Just order a steak “wit.” Enjoy our delicious and wonderful city!

Philadelphia Tour Guides Jim

JIM | Tour Guide

Jim believes there is an interesting oddity behind every historic marker. And he's proved it, writing 10 years of quick-read columns about Philly's heroes and historic sites for the Society Hill Reporter and Queen Village Neighbors Association magazine. Now those stories are going into a book for Temple University Press. A traveler at heart, Jim and his twin brother took retirement fund money early in their careers and spent a year working and traveling through Europe. "Best thing I ever did," he says.

His scariest moment: "Being tossed into a room and held alone for a frightening hour by East German guides at Berlin's Checkpoint Charlie." Now he makes travel fun for Philly visitors. And he's sure to tell you about Philly's two superheroes "Penn and Ben." Count on it.
