The average Emirati spends around 2.5 hours a day on social media. There are many social and cultural factors at play that encourage this, but we can’t help but feel that the city of Dubai itself plays a part. The city is beautifully designed and well lit, making it perfect for taking photos of your Instagram! In this post, we’ll share the top 10 most Instagram spots in Dubai.

 Dubai Miracle Garden

Insta it with flowers! The Dubai Miracle Garden is the world’s largest natural flower garden, with over 109 million flowers planted. The entire park provides a beautiful, verdant backdrop for your photos. We’re particularly partial to the heart-shaped floral arches lining the walkways that provide great framing for any shots that you may wish to take. Try wearing a floral-print outfit when you go to the Miracle Garden – it can provide an intriguing match to the flowers of your surroundings, leading to great photos.

Box Park

Box Park is a colorful collection of buildings along Al Wasl Road. The area is so named because the architecture was designed to resemble a funky stack of industrial style boxes. The sharp lines and colorful facades make for a striking background for any photos you might want to take. If you’re planning a photo shoot here, we recommend wearing a single color outfit will contrast well with the primary colors of the buildings.

Madinat Jumeirah

There are few places as quintessentially Dubai at Madinat Jumeirah. The area boasts lovely sand-colored buildings, sparkling waterways topped with gliding abras and leafy palm trees, all with the Burj Al Arab towering in the skyline behind. Stick on your sunnies, plop on your hat and take some photos that celebrate the Dubai aesthetic. Definitely one of the top 10 Instagram spots in Dubai.

Tub of Butter

There are plenty of restaurants and cafés in Dubai that serve perfectly plated meals and eye-catching desserts. It’s hard to narrow down which places to head to for foodie-friendly Instagram shots, but we particularly like Tub of Butter. They offer a fine collection of sandwiches and pastries, as well as a deli selection providing fine cheese and meats. For Instagram purposes, however, we love their coffee art. You can order a drink topped with an image of anyone from Marilyn Monroe to Sheikh Mohammed.

The Dubai Dunes

There are few sights that combine simplicity and majesty as well as the sand dunes of Dubai. If you get the chance, we recommend taking the trip out to the desert sometime during the sunset hours. The sky casts a warm hue that leaves the dunes a rich dusky red that makes a gorgeous backdrop for photos. Not to mention, this period is known as the golden hour, thanks to the beautiful soft light about during that time – you won’t need any filters if you take photographs during this time.

Dubai Design District

Dubai Design District is a purpose-built community of designers and creative. The entire space is one that celebrates the aesthetic makes a great spot for some Instagrammable shots. The area is dotted with eye-catching modern sculptures that you can pose beside. The Dubai Design District is a little out of the way compared to other places in Dubai, but in a way, that makes it even better. The lack of crowds means that you can spread out and pose to your heart’s content.

Street 18B Karama

For a while, this area was only known as a flea market district – great for shopping, but not the best background for photos. However, this area has gotten a major makeover in the past few years. Where there were once plain sandstone walls, there is now a collection of colorful graffiti art decorating the area’s buildings. These eye-catching pieces really stand out against the neutral tones of the old Dubai buildings, so it’s a great place for eye-popping pictures.

Alserkal Avenue

Alserkal Avenue is one of Dubai’s major artistic hubs – it’s the reason why it features so heavily in our Art Tour of Dubai. Naturally, there are a lot of great places here to take photos. The open spaces and pale, angular buildings allow for some great dramatic shots. If you want to get up close and personal, a lot of the galleries in the area allow you to take photos of the statues and paintings – just ask.

Dubai Mall

Dubai’s most famous locale has plenty of eye-catching attractions within, making it a great place to snap a shot. There is always something to photograph here, from dinosaur skeletons to a disco-lit ice rink to a massive aquarium. When it comes to selfies though, the most popular spot is probably in front of the Human Waterfall. It depicts a collection of exquisitely carved figures diving down a shimmering cascade of water. It definitely makes for a striking image.

Bastakiya

This is the site of our Old Dubai Tour. The area is a small enclave of historic sand-colored buildings with rising wind towers. Unlike many historical sites, this one is spacious and clean, with plenty of room to spread out and take photos. We recommend walking a little further to the Creek area, to get some nice shots of the gliding dhow boats as well. This is one of our favorite of top 10 Instagram spots in Dubai.

There are plenty of places to see and admire in Dubai, many of which make for fantastic backdrops for photos. You’ll find there’s plenty to take a picture of here in Dubai. Try heading out to one of the many instagrammable locations in the city and enjoy the chance to both make great memories and to bring in those social media likes.
