The Weather in Dublin in June

June begins the summer tourist season in Dublin. Milder temperatures and extended hours of daylight make this a great time to visit this city.  


Average Temperatures

Daytime high temperatures increase throughout June from near 16-17 C (61-62 F) early in the month, warming to near 18-19 C (65-66 F) by the month’s end. 

A few of the warmer afternoons, especially late in the month, can warm up around 21-22 C (about 71 F).

The record high temperature in Dublin during June is 25.7 C (78.3 F). 

Late night and early morning low temperatures tend to be around 8-9 C (47-48 F) early in June, warming to near 11C (51-52 F) near the end of the month.

A few of the colder mornings, particularly early in the month, can dip down near 5-6 C (about 42 F).

The record low temperature for Dublin during June is 2.1 C (35.8 F).

About 14-15 days will feature sunny or at least partly sunny skies allowing ample time to explore the city and countryside.

Although 14 days, on average, report some rain, only 3 of these days will record rainfalls of 5 mm (0.2 inches) or more. 


Daylight

During June, Dublin enjoys extended daylight hours, growing from 16.6 hours on the 1st and peaking at 17 hours on the 21st making this month an excellent time to visit the city.  


Windspeed

Wind speeds during June range mostly from gentle at 8-12 mph/12-19 kph to moderate at 13-18 mph/20-28 kph.


Ocean Temperatures

Dublin lies along the western edge of the Irish Sea which during June is still very chilly with temperatures averaging near 11-13 C (52-56 F)


What to Wear in Dublin in June?

The extended daylight hours this month and milder temperatures allow ample time to explore the outdoors. 

Bring your sunglasses but dress in layers as late-night and early-morning temperatures can be quite chilly but afternoons will tend to be mild.

Also bring both short and long-sleeved shirts, warm socks, and water-resistant walking shoes or boots. 

Jeans or other travel pants along with a lightweight jacket and a sweater will do. 


Things to Do in Dublin in June

Now that summer is here, the weather should be nice enough on most days to enjoy outdoor activities such as a pay-what-you-wish Dublin walking tour.

If you're looking for another type of outing, consider either a hop-on hop-off bus tour or a cruise instead.

This is also a great time to visit Dollymount Beach!
