Daily high temperatures will increase from around 11 C (52 F) early in April to near 15-16 C (59-61 F) by the end of this month.
A few of the warmer afternoons, especially near the end of the month, can warm up near 22-23 C (72-73 F).
The record high temperature in Prague during April is 26 C (79 F).
Early morning low temperatures will tend to be near 2-3 C (35-37 F) early in April but closer to 4-6 C (39-43 F) by the end of this month.
A few of the colder mornings, especially early in April, can dip down to -1 to -2 C (28-30 F) with about 9 days, overall, seeing lows at or below 0C (32 F).
The record low temperature in Prague during April is -7.8 C (18 F).
Rain or Shine
About 14 days in April will see sunny, or at least partly sunny skies to explore this fine city.
Some precipitation falls on about 16 days, however, only about 6 days record amounts of 1 mm (0.04 inches) or more.
Snowfall is limited but still can occur early in the month, usually about 2-3 cm (about 1 inch) or less.
Daylight
The amount of daylight increases rapidly this month from about 12.9 hours on the 1st to 14.6 hours by the 30th.
Windspeed
The wind tends to be mostly light to gentle (6-19 kph/4-12 mph) but occasionally will be moderate (20-28 kph/13-18 mph).
What to Wear in Prague During April?
Spring begins in April so you can experience both mild and cold conditions.
At least a medium-weight jacket or coat, some warm socks, and a couple of sweaters will be needed for the colder nights and mornings.
For the warmer days, only a light coat or windbreaker may be required, and don’t forget some comfortable walking shoes to explore the city.
Things to do in Prague in April
Chances are that there will be plenty of sunny days this month, so it might be a good time to consider taking a pay-what-you-wish walking tour in Prague.
With the weather warming up, this would also be a good time to go on a cruise down the river Vltava.
St. Mathew's Fair is usually held from February - April, so this will likely be your last chance to attend the annual event for the whole year.
If you're looking for a family-friendly activity, this is a good option.
April is typically the month of Easter, and they often hold an Easter market at Prague Castle each year.
This might be a good activity for anyone who wants to find a unique souvenir.
