This Greenwich Village Dessert Tour is for those with a sweet tooth! Join Free Tours by Foot as we indulge our cravings at some of New York’s most creative artisan dessert makers and learn about how Bohemia made its home in Greenwich Village. You will try typical local desserts from fresh cannolis, homemade chocolates, artisan doughnuts, oatmeal at the world’s first oatmeal bar, organic cookies to the must-have ice cream. Greenwich Village has long been a neighborhood of vibrant and creative energy. It’s a neighborhood where artists, writers, working class, and the elite would come together to discuss new ideas and politics, and defy the social and economic norms of New York City society - and it's home to the most popular dessert places in NYC.
Check out our blog post on things to eat in Greenwich Village which describes some of the below mentioned locations.
Sites we cover on the tour:
- Pasticcera Rocco
- Varsano's Chocolates
- Doughnut Project
- Milk and Cookies Bakery
- Big Gay Ice Cream
- and much more!
At the dessert stops, you will choose what treats you would like to sample, eat in whole, or take with you. Try them all or none at all. Unlike other tours that charge around $50 with some excluding food, on this tour YOU choose what to eat and how much to spend. All recommended items are less than $4. Suggested amount to bring for snacks is $10-15, depending on your appetite!
