In this post, we will help you find the best option for where to store luggage in Miami, including a new trend in Airbnb-inspired luggage storage.

LUGGAGE STORAGE IN MIAMI (THE AIRBNB METHOD)

The sharing economy has started making it easier to find accommodation for yourself and your luggage!

A few companies have created systems that let you find a local place that will store your bag for a few hours or a few days.

You can also store your bags with several bus tour companies if you have a ticket to ride.

Vertoe

Vertoe is America’s largest on-demand short-term luggage storage platform with a presence in over 20 major cities and 300+ locations in the US.

Vertoe’s rates are among the cheapest in Miami at $5.95 per bag per day and many of the spaces are open 24/7.

They offer a very generous $5,000 in insurance and provide complimentary tamper-proof security seals upon check-in.

Major transit spots are covered with Miami Airport, Miami Beach, and South Beach to name a few.

You can book in advance and cancel for a full refund anytime. Click here to find Vertoe locations.

Additional Companies

Several other companies offer similar services.

It's worth taking a look into all the options before booking - you might find something more convenient or with a better fringe benefit.

Bounce

This is one of the most competitive luggage storage companies in Miami, and they offer some of the best rates in the city.

With over 120 storage locations in Miami, chances are you won't have any trouble finding a place to drop off your luggage.

With prices starting at just $5.90/piece per day, they're actually one of the lowest priced services on our list.

Better yet, you can save an extra 5% off by using the promo code FREETOURSBYFOOT at checkout.

Alternatively, you can save 10% off by using the Miami Sightseeing Pass.

Due to liability concerns, Cruise Lines generally no longer hold your luggage before or after your cruise.

If you arrive in Miami early be sure to check with the porters, who are usually there at 8:00 am to take your luggage (on the same day of your cruise).

Check with your specific cruise line for more details.

Fortunately, Vertoe has a location near the Port of Miami to assist in all your luggage storage needs.

Ship to Shore Program

Big Bus Miami offers a Ship to Shore Program where the package price includes pick up at your cruise terminal, luggage storage, full access to all their hop-on-hop-off bus loops, and transfer to Miami or Fort Lauderdale Airport.

LUGGAGE STORAGE AT THE AIRPORT

Unfortunately, TSA no longer allows storage lockers at airports in the United States, but luckily there are companies providing manned storage services in the terminals.

Luggage Storage at Airports

You can always call your airline and see how early you can check a bag, as some will allow you to check luggage hours before your flight.

Fortunately, there is a storage company located within each airport where you can leave your bags.

Fort Lauderdale- Hollywood International Airport

Bags To Go is located in all four terminals and is open from 9:00 am - 5:30 pm Friday - Monday. Note that it is only open in Terminal 2 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

The cost per bag is $8.00 with a maximum of 30 days of storage. You must pay in cash.

Miami International Airport

There is a baggage storage/checkroom located in Terminal E on the 2nd Level. It is open daily from 5: 00 am - 9:00 pm.

Daily rates are subject to baggage size but range from $6-$19. For more information call 305-869-1163.

LUGGAGE STORAGE AT MUSEUMS

This option is useful if you're visiting a museum with small carry-ons or backpacks.

The Perez Art Museum Miami requires visitors to check backpacks of any size, shopping bags, handbags 9 x 14 inches or larger, and umbrellas.

Free luggage storage is available to all museum visitors, as available.

The following museums will hold your luggage for free:

These options are not very flexible and you must take your bags with you when you leave the museum. Why not check out the Airbnb-style option above?
