1. See a Concert

The Miami area is rather quiet this month when it comes to concerts.

However, the annual Tortuga Festival takes place, bringing in dozens of acts from the country music scene.

Also in Fort Lauderdale is the Tortuga Musical Festival. It takes place April 14th-16th and includes people like Wiz Khalifa, Shania Twain, Kenny Chesney, The Wallflowers, Deana Carter, and more.

2. Attend a Sporting Event

Baseball, hockey, tennis, soccer, and basketball...the options are endless in South Florida for both professional and college-level sports.

There are multiple games for most teams in April.

3. Enjoy the Theatre

Fans of music and theatrical productions will have some great options to choose from in and around Miami this April. 

You’ll find a variety of different shows to watch this month, including Off-Broadway musicals, classic operas, and ballet.

5. Head to the County Fair

In March the Miami-Dade County Fair and Expo happens at the fairgrounds of the same name.

In addition to over 90 rides, there are carnival games and over 150 food stands. It's the perfect family-friendly activity.

There's also a youth fair that includes circus acts, an ice-skating show, and a jetpack flying water circus, amongst other fun experiences.

Look out for daily parades, stilt walkers, a rolling piano player, robocars, and a number of interactive experiences such as a petting zoo.

It's impossible to be bored with so much to do!

This all takes place on March 16th-April 9th, opening at noon most days. Note that the fair is closed March 27th-28th and April 3rd-4th.

6. Take A Sightseeing Tour

In April, the weather is perfect to take a sightseeing tour with smaller tour groups.

A convenient way to get around Miami while learning about the city is to take a hop-on-hop-off bus tour.

These tours make stops at over 20 popular points of interest and attractions and include live English commentary (or recorded commentary in 11 languages).


7. Miami Beach Pride

April will bring more than 80,000 participants to the Miami Beach Pride Festival.

With a parade along Ocean Drive, a VIP gala, and endless parties, this festival is sure to be a good time. 

General Pride events take place in the city from April 1st-16th.

The free 2-day Miami Beach Pride Festival takes place April 15th and 16th, with DJs, live music, and other events.

The Miami Beach Pride Parade takes place on April 16 with more than 50 floats running along Ocean Drive (between 5th and 15th streets).


8. Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth at the SOFLO Cake & Candy Expo

Who doesn't love cake and candy? The annual SOFLO Cake & Candy Expo offers treats, classes, and supplies for everyone from the professional to the hobby baker. 

Located at the Miami Aiport Convention Center, the expo will be held from April 28th-30th. 


9. See a Stand-up Comedy Performance

If you're in need of a good laugh, you might want to consider going out to see some stand-up comedy while you're in Miami.

There are a few notable comedians performing this month, so it's a good time to hear a few jokes!

10. Attend the OUTshine Film Festival

The 25th anniversary of the Miami OUTshine Film Festival, which provides a forum for LGBTQ+ filmmakers to show their cinematic works, takes place in April.

There are screenings, panel discussions, happy hours, and parties throughout Miami.

Activities take place from April 20th - 30th.

The Las Olas Wine and Food Festival takes place in Fort Lauderdale on April 21st.

Their tasting pavilion allows you to taste "the best cuisines from different areas".

A visit to The Mammoths: Ice Age Giants exhibit at Frost Museum of Science is a great activity for kids.

The Beach Polo World Cup takes place from April 20th - 23rd on Miami Beach.

This is the largest polo event in the world and includes not only polo matches but a retail village, Après Polo events, and cocktail parties.
