Which Prague Tourist Attraction Pass is Best?

BOOK MY TOUR!
Updated: September 26, 2023

This post will cover each of the major tourist discount passes available in Prague and everything they include.

We will also provide information about how to use each pass and the differences between them.

BEFORE YOU BUY

In this post, we will cover a variety of different tourist attraction discount city cards.

While some passes offer admission to several popular attractions over the course of a set number of days, others offer a set number of activities for as long as the pass is valid.

This section will provide details about what to expect from each type of pass, explaining how they work and any additional information that might be useful to know.

Prague Tourist Pass Card Options

All-Inclusive

These passes give you access to dozens of attractions for a specific number of days.

You can choose to get the pass for 2, 3, or 4 days depending on your plans while in Prague.

Although the service is only valid for the number of days you choose, it is valid for an entire year after purchase, giving you plenty of time to decide when you want to use it – or even look for the best airfare prices!

An All-Inclusive pass will usually offer the most value, as they often include more activities and attractions than any other option.

They also offer additional discounts on tours, cruises, and more.

If you plan to see or do a lot in a short amount of time, this may be one of your best options.

That said, visitors who would rather enjoy their activities at a slower pace may want to consider another type of pass.

Free Prague Walking Tours

Set Number of Attractions

This type of pass provides access to a certain number of attractions.

Although they don’t include as many activities as other services, you also won’t have to worry about how many days it will remain active.

A Set Number of Attractions pass is usually valid for at least 30 days, which means anyone visiting on vacation can take their time and explore the city at their leisure.

These passes typically offer admission to more attractions than activities.

So, if you’re interested in taking more than one tour or getting discounts on additional things to do, it may be worth considering a different option.

Whether you know exactly what you want to experience while in Prague or you prefer a more open-ended exploration of the city, this is an excellent way to save money.

Combo Packages

In addition to tourist passes, there are also combo deals offered by tour companies which include more than one activity or attraction at a discounted price.

These packages usually include a bus tour and at least one other service, such as a cruise, a walking tour, or even admission to a popular attraction.

Prague Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tours For Combo Tickets

This is another great option if you know exactly what you want to see or do and the activities you have planned are included with a combo package.

Rather than worrying about getting the most use out of a discount pass, you’ll only be paying for the specific services you want!

ALL-INCLUSIVE

In this section, we will cover the two all-inclusive tourist passes available in Prague.

While one includes a public transport ticket, the other offers additional discounts on a variety of tours and other activities.

Be sure to read our guide on public transportation in Prague.

Each pass has different advantages and it will be important to consider what you plan to do while in the city before making a purchase.

Depending on which service you choose, you could pay as little as €15 per day for admission to various attractions and things to do.

Prague CoolPass (formerly Prague Card/Prague City Card)

Not to be outdone by their competition, this service includes admission to 60 attractions, a sightseeing bus tour, and a river cruise.

The major difference between this pass and the Prague Welcome Card is that they do not offer a 3-day public transportation ticket.

Prague Card Tourist Pass

In addition to all of the attractions you can visit with the Prague CoolPass, you’ll also receive discounts of up to 50% on other popular activities.

When you combine all the museums, tours, and cruises you can take for free with all of the discounts they offer, there are over 100 attractions included with this tourist pass.

At about €38 per day for the shortest option, you’ll only need to visit 3-4 attractions each day to take advantage of this tourist pass.

However, if you get the best deal with the longest pass at €23.50 per day, you can still save a lot of money visiting just 2-3 locations each day.

Prague Visitor Pass

This is one of the newer tourist passes in Prague, and it's very similar to other all-inclusive options.

In addition to providing over 60+ experiences, this service also includes free public transport on the metro, tram, funicular, city buses, and ferries.

The Prague Visitor Pass is available for 2, 3, or 5 days at a time.

Here are some of the more notable attractions and activities included on this pass at no additional cost:

Purchase the Prague Visitor Pass or learn more.

As you can see, prices for this pass are very comparable to similar competitors, and there are a few reasons you might actually want to consider this one instead.

One of the most notable differences between this pass and others is that it includes free public transportation, and it even covers the cost of an airport transfer.

Another notable inclusion is tickets to see an HC Sparta Praha game.

If you're into sports, you might want to consider this pass just to get the free ticket!

Prague Welcome Card

(This Experience is not available for now)

This all-inclusive pass includes admission to over 50 historic sites, museums, and galleries in Prague.

In addition to providing access to all of those locations, you’ll also receive a free 3-day public transport ticket which is good for buses, trams, and metro service.

Prague Welcome Card

There are also discounts on concerts, theatres, music clubs, sightseeing tours, and guided walks.

Prague Welcome Card holders can also save money at a variety of restaurants and shops in the city.

Here are some of the most popular attractions included:

  • Vyšehrad
  • Bílek Villa
  • Wallenstein Palace
  • New Town Hall
  • Troja Chateau
  • Clementium
  • Astronomical Clock Tower
  • Basilica of St. Peter & St. Paul
  • Czech Museum of Music
  • The Aeronautical Museum
  • The Franz Kafka Museum
  • And more!

Pass Info

NOTE: This tourist pass is not currently available as of January 2023.

The Prague Welcome Card is probably best suited to visitors who want complete control over where they go and when.

With the help of the 3-day public transport ticket, you can decide what your itinerary will look like and get to each major landmark with ease.

The only problem with this pass is that it does not include access to Prague Castle, one of the most popular destinations in the city. If you’re interested in this activity, you may want to look at one of the other passes.

Most of these locations charge between €5 - €10 for admission, so you’ll most likely enjoy the biggest savings if you visit at least 4-5 attractions per day.

Prague MultiCard

(This is not bookable for now)

As they say, "One card. Many Benefits". The Prague Multicard provides discounts on shopping, food, sightseeing, and other events.

The main focus of the card is on the center of the city.

Shopping discounts run anywhere from 15-30%.

Food discounts run around 20% in over 50 restaurants. Below are just a few:

  • Giovanni Pizzeria Ristorante
  • Kraftdog Prague
  • Trattoria by Giovanni
  • Burger Grill
  • Coffee Lovers
  • Peppercorn
  • UDvou Sester
  • and more.

Sightseeing discounts tend to run 20-25% off in most places.  Below are a few that accept the card:

  • Prague Castle After Dark
  • Old Town and Jewish Ghetto in Brief
  • Prague Castle & Canal River Boat Tour
  • Prague on Segway
  • Praha Bike
  • eScooter
  • City Sightseeing - Bus and Classic Tour Prague

Other services vary but could include 10% off of a tandem parachute jump or 10% off a company that provides tours of the city in a classic Alfa Romeo luxury convertible.

The purchase of the card also provides you with a free public transport ticket for 2-3 days, depending on which one you choose.

  • 2 Day multi-card:  €20.50
  • 3 Day multi-card:  €25.63

The card can be purchased online or at one of the partner stores in Prague.

Once the card is in hand, it will need to be activated by filling in the name of the person using the card and the date of activation, something a partner store employee can help with.

SET NUMBER OF ATTRACTIONS

The following section will provide details about tourist passes that include admission to a set number of attractions.

We will cover information such as ticket prices, which services are offered, and how long the pass is valid.

The Prague Pass

This is one of the newer tourist passes in Prague, and it includes some of the most popular attractions in the city.

Although it is limited to just 4 activities, it's perfect for someone with a limited amount of time to spend sightseeing.

The Prague Pass is entirely digital, and it allows you to pick whatever time slots you want for each included ticket.

In addition to this factor, you'll also receive 10% off other activities in the area.

Here are the included attractions:

  • Prague Castle | Skip-the-Line ticket
  • Prague Astronomical Clock | Skip-the-Line ticket
  • Panoramic Vltava River Cruise
  • Prague City Audio Guide
  • 10% Discount on Additional Activities

Pass Prices:

  • €53/Adults (17+)
  • €42/Youth (16)
  • €26/Children (6-15)
  • €17/Toddlers (3-5)
  • €4/Infants (0-2)

Purchase The Prague Pass or learn more.

The total value of all included tickets is €54.10, so this pass isn't going to save you a lot of money.

Even so, it is an excellent option for anyone short on time who just wants to spend a few less euros.

The only major thing missing from this tourist pass is a Prague bus tour, so if you're interested in that activity, you might want to consider another service.

Alternatively, you could use your 10% off to get a discount on your bus tour!

Prague City Pass

Unlike other tourist passes in Prague, this option only offers admission to 15 attractions and activities.

That said, this pass is valid for a total of 30 days, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore the city at your own leisure.

Prague City Pass

In addition to each of the locations included, you will also receive a sightseeing bus tour and a river cruise.

Some of the tickets included are only valid for a specific amount of time after the first entry.

But, you’ll be able to decide when to enter the attraction and how much time to spend there.

Here are the attractions you can visit with the Prague City Pass:

  • Prague Castle
    • Old Royal Palace
    • St. George’s Basilica
    • Golden Lane
    • Daliborka Tower
    • St. Vitus Cathedral
    • Valid for 2 days after the first entry.
  • Jewish Museum
    • Maisel Synagogue
    • Spanish Synagogue
    • Pinkas Synagogue
    • Klausen Synagogue
    • Old Jewish Cemetery
    • Ceremonial Hall
    • Valid for 7 days after the first entry.
  • Sightseeing Bus Tour
  • Sightseeing Cruise

Pass Prices

This is an excellent option if you know exactly what you want to see and experience in Prague.

If you were to compare the cost per day, it would be less than €2 per day on average.

That said, there aren’t as many activities included with this pass, so it’s not really a fair comparison.

One potential concern is that some customers have had difficulty validating the pass, so make sure to follow all the instructions and get your card as early in the day as possible.

It is also worth noting that the Prague Welcome Card includes even more activities for a lower price.

However, while that service is only valid for 3 days, the Prague City Pass is valid for a total of 30 days.

If you want or need more time to explore the city, this might be a better tourist pass to consider.

BUS TOUR COMBO PACKAGES

In this section, we will provide information about some of the best combo deals available in Prague.

We will also cover details about which services are included, ticket prices, and how much money you can save.

City Sightseeing

This is one of the biggest hop-on-hop-off bus tour companies in the world, and they’re currently offering some of the best combo deals in Prague.

City Sightseeing Prague Combo

In addition to their bus tours, these packages also include activities such as a cruise, a Prague Castle walking tour, and a Jewish Quarter walking tour.

Here are the various combination tickets you can purchase from City Sightseeing:

  • 24-Hour Bus Tour
    • €28/Adults | €26/Students | €24/Children | €90/Family (2 Adults + 2 Children)
  • 48-Hour Bus Tour
    • €34/Adults | €32/Students | €30/Children | €90/Family (2 Adults + 2 Children)
  • 24-Hour Bus Tour + Cruise
    • €38/Adults | €36/Students | €34/Children | €117/Family (2 Adults + 2 Children)
  • 48-Hour Bus Tour + Cruise
    • €45/Adults | €43/Students | €40/Children | €117/Family (2 Adults + 2 Children)
  • 3-Hour Bus Tour Prague Castle
    • €29/Adults | €25/Students | €21/Children | €80/Family (2 Adults + 2 Children)
  • 2-Hour Bus Tour + Historical Prague
    • €22/Adults | €17/Students | €13/Children | €55/Family (2 Adults + 2 Children)
  • Short City Tour
    • €17/Adults | €15/Students | €13/Children | €48/Family (2 Adults + 2 Children)
  • Prague Pub Crawl (Currently Unavailable)
    • €22/Adults
  • Medieval Night
    • €48/Adults | €30/Child

Purchase combo tickets or learn more.

NOTE: Some of these combo packages are currently unavailable as of January 2023

If we compare these deals to the tourist passes, it’s easy to see how you might want to consider one of these options over the Prague City Pass.

While that service is €54,90 per person, you can get almost everything included for less with the most expensive combo package on this list.

The main difference to note is that the tourist pass offers admission to the Jewish Museum, while this opportunity takes you on a walking tour around the Jewish Quarter.

Although the Prague Castle walking tour includes admission to the grounds, the courtyard, the gardens and St. Vitus Cathedral, the Jewish Quarter tour does not include entry to any sites.

In other words, even though this is a cheaper option, it’s definitely worth considering a tourist pass if you’d like to see and do more in Prague.

Prague Bus Tours

As with their competitors, this company also offers a variety of combo tickets which include their hop-on-hop-off bus tour and at least one additional activity.

Prague Bus Tour Combo Map

This combo deal is available either with a river cruise, a Prague Castle walking tour or both.

Here are the packages currently offered by Prague Bus Tours:

  • Bus Tour + Cruise
    • 48-Hour Ticket: €41,18/Adults | €20,78/Kids
  • Bus Tour + Prague Castle Tour
    • 24-Hour Ticket: €34,78/Adults | €17,61/Kids
    • 48-Hour Ticket: €41,60/Adults | €20,78/Kids
  • Bus Tour + Cruise + Prague Castle Tour
    • 24-Hour Ticket: €48/Adults | €24/Kids
    • 48-Hour Ticket: €52,80/Adults | €26,38/Kids

NOTE: These combo packages are currently unavailable as of January 2023. Prague Bus Tours is currently only offering private tours and other services like bike tours. Check their website to see what is available.

As you can see, the prices for these combo deals are pretty similar to those offered by their competitors.

The main difference between these two services is that the City Sightseeing packages include a Jewish Quarter walking tour, but this company does not.

If you’re just in the market for a hop-on-hop-off tour and 1-2 other activities, this could be a great option to consider.

HOP-ON-HOP-OFF

Much like the other services in this section, this company also offers combo packages that feature a hop-on-hop-off bus tour.

Their combo deals are very similar to what competitors offer with one major difference: every package includes a cruise and a Prague Castle tour!

Hopon Hopoff Bus Combo Tour

Here are the combination tickets available:

  • 24-Hour Bus Tour
    • €32.27/Adult | €16.13/Child
  • 24-Hour Bus Tour + Cruise
    • €35.61/Adult | €17.80/Child
  • 48-Hour Bus Tour + Cruise
    • €40.06/Adult | €20.03

Purchase tickets or learn more

Since each ticket includes both a cruise and a Prague Castle tour, this service is comparable to the most expensive Prague Bus Tours option (€48) and the second-best ticket from City Sightseeing (€43).

With a price of only €34,40 for the 48-hour option, this is easily the cheapest combo package of the bunch.

The deal gets even sweeter if you get a family ticket, as you could pay as little as €15,80 per person.

Is a Prague Tourist Pass Worth It?

The answer to this question depends on several different factors that you'll want to consider before making a purchase, including the following examples:

  • Travelers with long stays
  • Both families and couples
  • Tourists who want to visit 3-4 attractions each day
  • Visitors who plan on enjoying several of the activities included

While a tourist discount pass is not necessarily the best choice for every traveler, it can be quite useful for a lot of people.

Some Prague passes include unlimited public transportation access, making it easy to get around the city without having to learn about all the different ticket options available.

If you're not very interested in touristy activities and landmarks, these services might not be a good way to save money, because they are focused almost exclusively on the most popular attractions in the city.

It's also worth noting that it's easy to find yourself tied to your pass, which is to say that you might focus all of your time around getting the best possible deal with a Prague city card and ignore all the other little things that make this city shine.

These are just a few of the more important factors to think about before buing a tourist pass. We suggest planning out an itinerary ahead of time to ensure you'll save as much money as possible.

FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions
