1. Go to a Concert
There are some notable and popular musicians performing in Berlin in April.

2. Attend a Sporting Event
Berlin is home to two of the biggest football teams in Europe.
One of them will have a couple of games in April, and there will be a basketball game as well.

The concerts will be held at Staatsoper unter den Linden and at the Philharmonie. On April 1st, you can see Wagner's Götterdämmerung for free.

7. Attend the Cherry Blossom Festival
April is the first full month of spring and it’s also when you'll find cherry blossoms in bloom.
During this time the annual cherry blossom festival will take place.
Viewing the beauty of flowers is called Hanami in Japanese, Japan being the country that donated thousands of cherry blossom trees to Berlin in honor of the reunification of Germany in 1990.
At the festival, you can expect both a celebration of the cherry blossoms and stage performances from a variety of artists.
Visitors are welcome to picnic under the trees, take a walk around the garden, or even purchase treats from a variety of vendors.
In Berlin, this event will take place at the Gardens of the World.
Dates haven't been released as of January but it usually falls between late March and mid-April.

8. Take Part in Record Store Day
In the past few years, Record Store Day has become much more of an event in Berlin and around the world, making this an excellent opportunity to score some great new albums.
Aside from hosting small musical performances and other activities, you can expect local record stores to offer a variety of discounts and celebrate the holiday in many other significant ways as well.
One of the big reasons to join in on the fun is that there are typically Record Store Day exclusive releases that have limited print runs, which means you can only get them during this event!
If you’re a music fan and you own a turntable, consider heading out to one of the many independent record stores in Berlin to celebrate this holiday on April 20th, 2024.
10. Go to the Achtung Berlin Film Festival
Film buffs will be happy to hear that there will be a film festival held in Berlin this April which includes a variety of feature-length movies, documentaries, as well as medium and short films.
Although you won’t be able to vote on your favorite flicks, you can attend some of the screenings for as little as €7.50 per person.
No matter what type of movies you enjoy the most, chances are there will be at least a few films you’ll want to see during the Achtung Berlin Film Festival.

11. Participate in the Spring Festival
Kurt-Schumacher-Damm will be hosting the 52nd Frühlingsfest a festal that honors spring.
Festivities will include a variety of amusement rides including roller coasters, Ferris wheels, fun houses, and more.
There will also be plenty of great food to eat including candy floss, bratwursts, and roasted almonds.
On Saturdays they will light up the night sky with a fireworks display, making this both an excellent family activity and something fun to do after dark.
As if that weren’t good enough, this festival is also entirely free to attend – although you’ll probably want to bring some money for the rides and food!

12. Drink the Best Beer in Berlin
No trip to Berlin is complete without at least one authentic German beer, but there are so many to choose from that it might be difficult to pick one that you’ll adore.

13. Celebrate Walpurgis Night
Walpurgis Night (Walpurgisnact) takes place on April 30th each year. It's a celebration of the coming spring, and many parts of Europe celebrate it.
The name comes from Saint Walpurga, who lived in the 8th century, and May 1st is the day of her canonization.
However, the event is mainly a pre-Christian pagan festival.
Much like Halloween, there are myths of witches on broomsticks and evil spirits.
Bonfires are lit, strawmen are burned, people dress in costume and pranks take place in some places.
In Berlin, people head to Maurepark for a family-friendly celebration.
