Things to Do at Night in Las Vegas

Updated: 16 noviembre 2023

There are so many activities, museums, casinos, and restaurants to choose from in Las Vegas, which can be overwhelming.

So whether or not you are a gambler, we have a list of things to do in Las Vegas at night which includes free activities, family-friendly locations, and open-late attractions.

TOP 10 THINGS TO DO AT NIGHT

Since there are so many things to do at night, we took the guesswork out of it for you.

Here is our top 10 list of the best things to do after the sun goes down in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Shows

One of the most iconic Las Vegas forms of entertainment is seeing a show, especially by a group like Cirque du Soleil or the Blue Man Group.

Cirque du Soleil is the most famous circus troupe in the world and has performances almost every day of the week.

Many of them are set to different music - from the Beatles to different cultural selections - and feature different performers.

Blue Man Group gives a unique performance combining sounds and visuals. They aren’t quite a band, and they aren’t quite dancers.

They tend to be charismatic with physical comedy and are also family-friendly.

You can find all genres of Las Vegas shows. If you enjoy tribute bands, you might like Legends in Concert or Motown Extreme.

Magic shows include the famous David Copperfield.

If you’re into dance troupes, the Jabbawockeez might be more your style.

If you're into stand-up, you could also get a ticket to the Las Vegas Comedy Club.

You can find all the magic, theatre, and comedy shows in Las Vegas here.

Cheer at a Sporting Event

There is a sporting event happening almost every week of the year.

Las Vegas has quite a few professional teams from hockey to minor-league baseball.

It also isn't uncommon to see the city host championships for niche events such as rodeos, NASCAR races, or UFC fights.

You can find all the Las Vegas sporting matches and tournaments here.

Take a Night Tour

If you want to wait until the cool of the evening to explore the Las Vegas Strip, then the Big Bus Night Tour is perfect for you.

This open-top bus will take you to all the landmarks and even includes a free walking tour down Fremont Promenade that the other Big Bus Tours don’t have.

If you’re looking for a different kind of tour, take a look at our Las Vegas bus tour comparison here.

It includes themed tours like the Mob Tour and Pawn Stars Tour.

If you're looking for a walking tour in the evening hours, you're in luck!

There is a 2-hour downtown walking tour with included cocktails!

You'll get to see Las Vegas shift from day to evening as the neon lights turn on and you walk past iconic movie locations.

For something a little more involved, this small-group food and drinks tour starts in the early afternoon but ends at 8:30 pm. It's the perfect time to see Sin City light up.

Check Out the Casinos

Of course, what would Las Vegas be without its casinos? You don’t have to be a big gambler to enjoy the casinos.

Some offer free lessons for table games such as blackjack, and others are known for hanging beautiful art.

  • Go to Caesars Palace if sports betting is your thing.
  • ARIA is known for its restaurants and 24-hour buffet.
  • Find the essential Las Vegas experience at Bellagio.
  • MGM Grand has a normal arcade game room for non-betters.
  • The Venetian is a gateway to another world and can take you straight to Venice.

High Roller Observation Wheel

See the Las Vegas lights at night from one of the tallest observation wheels in the world.

Make it a romantic evening or take your whole family - the pods are spacious enough to accommodate groups, and some of them come with champagne experiences.

You’ll be lifted up 550 feet in the air and have an unrestricted view on all sides.

The High Roller experience lasts 30 minutes - which is plenty of time to take all the pictures you want.

TIP: This attraction is included on multiple tourist passes!

Save Money with an Attraction Pass

Make the most of your time in Las Vegas with a city pass that includes multiple attractions.

You can get bulk discounts with set packages or build your own, depending on what you want to see.

If you're already planning on going to more than one show plus a few tours, a tourist pass could save you 50% or more off general admission prices.

Some of the attractions included in various city passes are:

  • Big Bus Night Tour
  • High Roller Observation Wheel
  • Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N.
  • Madame Tussauds Las Vegas
  • FlyLINQ, Slotzilla, and VooDoo Ziplines
  • Big Apple Coaster

There are three types of passes available: all-inclusive, flex passes, and build your own passes.

What you want to see will determine which pass will save you the most time and money.

Ride the Big Apple Coaster at Night

You can start or end your evening with an adrenaline rush from the Big Apple Coaster.

New York City might be the city that never sleeps, but Las Vegas is keeping up.

And after a few drinks, the Vietnamese food at District One hits the spot.

FREE THINGS TO DO AT NIGHT

While at first glance the glitz and bright lights of the casinos encompass everything, there are still a lot of worthwhile free things to do in Las Vegas after dark.

Here is our list of the best things to do at night without spending any money.

Don't forget to take a look at our full list of free activities and attractions in Las Vegas.

MSG Sphere

If you're traveling to Vegas, chances are you'll get a glance of its newest attraction before you even reach your hotel room!

That said, this is definitely one of the more interesting things to see in Sin City. While tickets to the events that take place at this new venue are not free, you can always enjoy whatever they have on display at other times.

The MSG Sphere is illuminated every day and night, and they will have seasonal imagery for Halloween and Christmas, so this might be a fun activity to enjoy during certain holidays as well!

Fremont Street

If you want to see a little bit of everything Las Vegas has to offer for free, Fremont Street is the place to be.

This pedestrian avenue is home to the Slotzilla Zipline, holiday parade routes, free concerts, and free light shows.

Check the events calendar to see if a big-name artist is playing for free on one of the three open-air stages. The Viva Vision light shows light up the ceiling every night.

And if that isn’t enough, you can find the entrances to multiple casinos on Fremont Street.

Fall of Atlantis Show

The Fall of Atlantis is a special effects show at Caesars Forum Shops, featuring animatronic Greek gods.

King Atlas must decide which of his sons will rule Atlantis, and the family argument that ensues is anything but friendly.

The show is made up of fountains, music, sound, light, and fire effects.

Most people agree the experience is cheesy but enjoyable, as long as you stand close enough to the speakers to hear the dialogue.

You can see the show every day of the week and every hour between 11:00 am and 10:00 pm. Fridays and Saturdays include one extra show.

See the Famous Fountain Shows

Las Vegas is known for the Bellagio Fountains, and the fountains are most impressive at night!

Water jets and lights are choreographed to music, which is impressive against a backdrop of the dark sky.

Shows happen frequently every day of the week from early afternoon until midnight - check the website for their schedule.

Another fountain show that is just as impressive is the Mirage Volcano.

Note: All fountain shows are subject to cancellation during high winds or inclement weather.

LINQ Promenade

The LINQ Promenade has all the things you might need to survive for a week or more in Las Vegas.

From entertainment and casinos to a multitude of dining and nightlife options, you won’t be lacking for anything on the promenade.

Watch the zipliners zoom past above as you browse the restaurant windows.

You can also find virtual reality experiences, a live music venue, and the High Roller Observation Wheel.

Swarovski Crystal Starburst Drop

Las Vegas really makes every night special with the Swarovski Crystal ball drop. The starburst is 4,000 pounds and filled with lights that reflect perfectly off of the crystals.

Lake of Dreams at Wynn

If you’re looking for a fountain show that is a bit more ethereal, look no further than the Lake of Dreams.

While you can grab a drink or have dinner right next to the lake, you don’t need to spend a penny to watch the show. There is an open terrace to relax on during the nightly show.

The Lake of Dreams show runs every 30 minutes between 8:00 pm and 12:30 am.

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden at the Bellagio truly is a work of art.

Each season - Chinese New Year, Spring, Summer, Harvest, and Holidays - have a new landscaping design with flowers, plants, and other art pieces.

The Conservatory can get quite busy during the day, so at night on weeknights is the best time to visit if you don’t want to fight the crowds to see the beautiful flowers.

The ride is approximately 8-12 minutes long and takes you over the lit-up Vegas Strip, including the New York-New York skyline and fountain shows.

Note: This tour is wheelchair accessible, and all children 2 years old and above will need their own seat.

Cirque du Soleil

One of the most popular Las Vegas shows is Cirque du Soleil. From graceful aerial silk artists to high-flying trapeze acrobats, they have captivated the world.

While in Las Vegas, why not catch a show?

There are multiple troupes under the Cirque du Soleil umbrella who have partnered with different music artists to create multiple unique versions of their show in order to offer something for everyone.

High Roller Observation Wheel

It seems like there are endless opportunities to see Las Vegas from an observation deck.

But the High Roller is the only observation wheel in the world that stands at 550 feet tall at its peak.

The High Roller has 28 pods with enough room for the whole family.

It takes 30 minutes to make one rotation - a perfect amount of time to take pictures and keep the kids occupied with the view of all the Strip’s lights.

TIP: This attraction is included on multiple tourist passes!

Fly LINQ Zipline

If you’re already in the vicinity of the LINQ Promenade and High Roller, check out the Fly LINQ zipline.
