How is the Weather in Charleston During June?

June features warm nights with very warm to hot days. Humidity levels are high with about 25-26 days considered humid. 


Temperatures

Daytime high temperatures will tend to be around 82-84 F (28-29 C) early in June, warming to 86-88 F (30-31 C) near the end of the month.

You can expect about 5 days this month reaching or exceeding 90 F (32 C). The all-time high temperature in Charleston during June is 104 F (40.0 C).

Late night and early morning lows will tend to be near 70-72 F (21-22 C) early in the month, warming to 75-76 F (about 24 C) near the end of the month.

A few of the cooler mornings, especially early in the month, can dip down around 63 F (17 C). The record low temperature in Charleston during June is 50 F (10.0 C). 


Sky and Rain

During June you can expect, on average, about 6-8 sunny, 11 partly sunny, and 11-13 mostly cloudy days.

Some rain falls on 10-11 days, however, only about 3 days will record 0.5 inches (12.7 mm) or more of rain.

The number of daylight hours ranges from about 14.2 hours on the first to 14.3 hours on the 21st. 


Windspeed

The prevailing wind speeds during this month are mainly light to gentle at 4-12 mph (6-19 kph) but briefly can be moderate at 13-18 mph (20-28 kph).

June is a great time for the beach as the ocean temperature is warm, ranging from about 75 F (25 C) on the 1st to near 81 F (27 C) by the 30th. 


What to Wear in Charleston During June?

It’s summer and the weather is very warm and humid.

Summer attire is best this month so pack light and airy clothes, shorts, an umbrella, or water-proof jacket for the rainy days plus sunscreen for the beach. 

Don’t forget some nice evening shoes and a good pair of walking shoes. 


Things to Do in Charleston in June

The weather should be very nice this time of year, so you might want to consider taking a pay-what-you-wish Charleston walking tour.

Summer is the perfect time to go see a baseball game, and the Charleston Riverdogs will be playing many home games this month.

It's also worth noting that famous stand-up comedian David Spade is currently scheduled to perform at Performing Arts Center at North Charleston Coliseum on June 2nd, 2024.

Alternatively, you can consider getting tickets to see Natalie Merchant at the The Riviera Theater on June 27th, 2024.
