BOOK MY TOUR!
Updated: December 6, 2023

This post will provide information about hop-on-hop-off Prague tours as well as other bus tour options, night tours, and discounts.

There's lots of history in the city of a hundred spires, and plenty of incredible sights to see. These services are an excellent way to experience as much as possible with ease.

HOP-ON HOP-OFF BUS TOURS

This type of bus tour will take you to each of the major landmarks in Prague, allowing you to jump off and explore the area at your own pace.

When you’re finished looking around, you can get back on the bus and continue with the guided tour.

Travelers can expect stops within a short walk of a variety of notable sights of Prague, including the following:

  • Jewish Quarter
  • Astronomical Clock
  • Hlavní Nádraží
  • Malá Strana
  • Prague Castle
  • Old Town Square
  • And more!
Hop on Hop Off Prague

While some buses are open-top, allowing you to get a good look at the city, others are smaller and not open to the air.

We note what type of bus is typically provided by each company.

We also include details such as ticket prices, stops included, live guides, routes, and any additional information that you might want to know.

How long is a Prague Hop-on Hop-off Tour?

Each route on these outings typically takes about an hour to complete, which means if you want to see it all, you can expect the tour to last for between 1-3 hours total.

That said, the more you jump off and explore the city, the longer the tour will last, and each ticket is valid for an entire day (within the hours the service is offered).

BIG BUS PRAGUE

Although their name is known around the world, Big Bus is actually the newest hop-on hop-off bus tour in Prague.

They currently offer 2 different routes throughout the city, as well as a river cruise that serves as their third route.

There are a total of 18 stops spread across both bus routes, including several popular attractions you'll probably want to see.

While touring around the city, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy an audio tour that is available in 24 different languages, including the following:

Czech, German, English, Italian, Spanish, French, Russian, Portuguese, Polish, Greek, Danish, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Hungarian, Chinese, Japanese, Ukranian, Hebrew, Korean, Hini, and Arabic.

At the moment, Big Bus Prague offers tickets for either 24 hours or 48 hours.

This bus tour runs daily from 9 am - 5 pm.

When they do make stops, you can expect your guide to hop off the bus with you and provide continued commentary in the area.

These tours are usually a lot more affordable and much shorter in length, so they’re great for visitors who don’t have a lot of time in the city or those with mobility concerns.

In addition to providing details about the tour itself, we will also include ticket prices, availability, duration, and other important information.

Martin Tours

This company offers three different fully guided bus tours in Prague.

Each tour is a different length, which means you’ll see the most significant sites on the short outing and just about every major landmark on the long trip.

Bus Tours to the Former Terezin Concentration Camp

During World War 2, the Terezin Concentration Camp existed just 30 miles from Prague. There, 33,000 Jews perished during their imprisonment by Nazi forces.

Some visitors to Prague choose to take a bus tour to this former concentration camp to grasp the magnitude of the Holocaust and bear witness to this horrific history.

There are several bus tours of the site of this former concentration camp.

For example, Prague Bus Tours (described just above) offers a tour that covers all entrance fees, a tour guide, hotel pick-up, and drop-off, bottled water, and transportation via air-conditioned bus – but it costs about €50 per person.

Our post about Terezin Concentration Camp Tours explains the other options and what you can expect from your tour.

NIGHT BUS TOURS

There is currently one bus tour available after dark in Prague, and this section will provide information about the evening outing.

We will include details about ticket prices, hours, availability, and locations you can expect to see after the sun goes down.

Prague By Night

This service is similar to a fully guided tour, in that you won’t be allowed to hop off wherever you want.

Instead, a professional guide will provide details about each of the sites on your trip.

In addition to landmarks like Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Hall, and the Dancing House, you may also get the chance to see the Krizik Fountain as it is lit up after dark from April - October.

The professional guide provided for this outing speaks English, but the tour is also available in German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Russian.

At 2 hours in length, you should have plenty of time to see most of the notable locations in Prague after dark.

Ticket Prices

  • €27,50/Adults |  €23,50/Children
  • Availability: Fri - Mon, Wed
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Hours: 7:30 pm
  • Not currently available as of December 2022.

This tour is limited to a maximum of 25 guests per trip, so you can rest assured that it won’t get too crowded.

As with most of the other services we’ve listed on this post, tickets can be canceled if necessary up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund.
