How is the Weather in Las Vegas in April?

April in Las Vegas features sunny, dry weather with warm afternoons and evenings and cool to comfortable nights and mornings.


Temperatures

Afternoon high temperatures will be in the mid-70s F(about 24 C) early in April but warms into the lower 80s F (about 28 C) by the end of the month.

About 3 afternoons during April, on average, will reach or exceed 90 F (32 C). 

The all-time record high temperature in Las Vegas during April is 99 F (37.2 C).

Late night and early morning low temperatures can be on the cool side early in the month with minimums in the low to mid 50s F (about 12 C) warming to near 60 F (15 C) near the end of the month. 

A few of the colder mornings, early in the month, can dip down into the mid 40s F (about 7 C) with the record low temperature this month a cold 31 F (-0.6 C).


Clouds and Rain

About 24 days on average this month will have sunny or at least partly sunny skies so there will be ample time to explore this city. 

Some rain falls on about 2 days, however, significant rainfalls of 0.5 inches (about 133 mm) or more only occur about once every 5 years.


Daylight 

Daylight hours increase this month from about 12.6 hours on the first to about 13.7 hours by the 30th. 


Windspeed

The wind in Las Vegas during April is mostly light, averaging between 4 mph and 12 mph (6-19 kph) but occasionally can be moderate at 13-18 mph (20-28 kph).


What to Wear in Las Vegas during April?

A mix of both spring and summer attire is best during April as temperatures can have a large range between the early morning hours and mid-afternoon.

A wind breaker or light jacket along with a sweater will suffice for the colder nights and early mornings.

Summer attire will be needed for the warm afternoons and early evenings and given the ample amount of sun, don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses, and a good pair of walking shoes.

As usual, you can also expect plenty of great concerts to attend in the spring, as well as more than a few notable comedians performing stand-up.

April is also typically the first month of baseball, which means that the Las Vegas Aviators and the UNLV Revels will both have games to attend.
