How is the Weather in Miami in July?

July in Miami is hot and very humid with frequent showers, especially during the afternoon and early evening hours.


Daytime high temperatures will average 89-92F (32-33 C) with about 22 days this month reaching or exceeding 90 F (32 C). 

The record high temperature in Miami during July is 98 F (36.7 C).

Late night and early morning low temperatures will tend to be 76-78F (about 25 C) with a few mornings dipping down near 74 F (about 23 C).

The record low temperature in Miami during July is 69 F (20.6 C).

Rain or Shine

About 19 days will feature sunny, or at least partly sunny skies.

You can also expect 19 days with rainfalls of least 0.01 inches (0.25 mm), mainly in the form of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. 

Only 6 days, however, will record significant rainfalls of 0.5 inches (12.7 mm) or more. 


The number of daylight hours starts to decrease this month falling from about 13.7 hours on July 1st to 13.3 hours on the 31st. 


Wind speeds will mostly be light to gentle at 4-12 mph (6-19 kph) but higher gusts are likely during showers and thunderstorms.

The weather is hot and humid with frequent showers so dress light and airy.

Bring your beach wear including a pair of casual flip flops, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a good pair of walking shoes as well as an umbrella for those showers.

Things to do in Miami in July

While there are likely to be a lot more rainy days in July than other months, if you manage to visit on a sunny day, you might want to consider taking a pay-what-you-wish Miami walking tour.

Even if it does rain during your trip, there are still a lot of fun things to see and do indoors!

One of the best ideas is to attend a theatrical performance such as a musical, play, ballet, or even a stand-up comedy show.

Many concerts in Miami will also be held indoors, so you won't have to worry too much about the weather for that activity.

Alternatively, you can go to a Miami Marlins game and cheer on the local team!
