May is a transition month as Miami enters the summer rainy season. Temperatures are very warm, and the afternoons are increasingly humid so expect 13-14 muggy days.

About 4-6 of the warmer afternoons can reach or exceed 90 F (32 C). The record high temperature for Miami during May is 96 F (35.6 F).
Late night and early morning low temperatures tend to be near 70 F (21 C) early in the month, warming to 74-76 F (23-24 C) near the end of the month.

Rain or Shine
About 17 days this month will see sunny, or at least partly sunny skies, however, most of these days will occur during the first half of the month as cloudiness and the risk for rain increase significantly with the onset of the rainy season.
Overall, about 11 days will record rainfalls of at least 0.01 inches (0.25 mm) with about 4-6 of these recording 0.5 inches (12.7 mm) or more. The risk for rain late near the end of May is double the risk during the first week of May.
The number of daylight hours increases from about 13.1 hours on May 1st to 13.6 hours on the 31st.
Wind speeds will mostly be gentle at 8-12 mph (12-19 kph) to occasionally moderate at 13-18 mph (20-28 kph).
If you are headed to the beaches expect warm ocean temperatures around 79-82 F (26-28 C).
