The Weather in Las Vegas in March

This post provides details about what kind of weather to expect in Las Vegas throughout the month.

March promises mostly sunny skies, comfortable afternoons, and cool nights, along with ample sunshine. 


Temperatures

Daytime high temperatures will most likely be in the upper 60s F (about 20 C) early in March but will warm to the mid-70s F (24-25 C) by the end of this month. 

A few of the warmer days, mostly later in the month, can reach into the mid-80s F (about 30 C).

Temperatures of 90 F (32 C) or more are rare, occurring only once every 2-3 years. 

The record high temperature in Las Vegas during March is 92 F (33.3 C).

Late night and early morning low temperatures will mostly be in the mid-40s F (about 8 C) early in the month warming into the lower 50s F (10-11 C) near the end of the month.

A few of the colder mornings can dip down to the upper 30s F (3-4 C), especially early in the month with freezing temperatures (32 F/0 C) or less occurring about once every 5 years. 

The record low temperature in Las Vegas during March is 23 F (-5 C).


How Much Rain? 

About 22 days this month will be sunny, or at least partly sunny, making this a great month to visit Las Vegas. 

Rain is likely only on 2-3 days this month and significant rainfalls of 0.5 inches (13 mm) or more only occur about once every 10 years.


Daylight Hours

The shortest day of the month is March 1, with about 11.4 hours of daylight and the longest day is March 31, with about 12.6 hours of daylight.


Wind

The wind during March in Las Vegas tends to be light, averaging only 4-12 mph (8-19 kph) but occasionally can be moderate at 13-18 mph (20-28 kph).


What to Wear in Las Vegas in March?

Spring attire is best during March as temperatures are not too warm, nor too cold.

Temperatures can, however, change quite a bit between the early morning and late afternoons so please pack a light or medium-weight jacket  along with a couple of sweaters for those cooler nights and early mornings. 

With lots of sun don’t forget a pair of sunglasses and a good pair of walking shoes.
