Weather in Rome during February tends to vary between cold and mild days.

There will still be plenty of sunshine this month to explore this great city.


HOW WARM OR COLD WILL IT BE?

In early February, afternoon high temperatures tend to be around 12-13 C (in the mid-50s F) warming to 14-15 C (the mid to upper 50s F) near the end of the month. 

A few of the milder afternoons can get up into the low to 17-18 C (the mid 60s F).

Late night and early morning lows will most likely be 3-4 C (the mid to upper 30s F) early in February, warming to 4-6 C (the lower 40s F) near the end of the month.

Average Temperatures in Rome in February

A few of the colder mornings, especially early in the month, can dip down to -1 to -2 C (the upper 20s F). 

On average, about 4 mornings will dip to freezing (0 C/32 F ) or below. 


HOW MUCH RAIN OR SUN? 

There will be 15-16 sunny or at least partly sunny skies. Expect 12-14 cloudy days. 

Daylight increases this month from just over 10 hours on the 1st to 11.2 hours by the end of the month. 

About 7-8 days this month will record at least 1 mm (0.04 inches) of rain, with 2-3 of these recording rainfalls of at least 10 mm (0.4 inches).

The last snowfall occurred in February 2018.  Some fog is likely on 21 days.

 Wind speeds tend to be light, averaging 8-16 kph (5-10 mph) but occasionally are moderate at 21-24 kph (13-15 mph).


WHAT TO WEAR IN ROME DURING FEBRUARY

Weather in Rome during February ranges from mild to cold so it would be a good idea to be prepared with clothes that suit both.

It is best to dress in layers. We've listed some essentials to pack below:


1. Layers

It is best to dress in layers. A couple of sweaters and at least one warm jacket or coat are recommended.

Also, consider bringing a scarf for chilly nights. 


2. Comfortable Footwear 

You'll want comfortable shoes and cozy socks to keep warm as you explore Rome in February.

3. Raingear 

With cloudy days with a chance of rain, you will want to pack raingear. Umbrellas are a great option, as are rainjackets.
