IS ROME HOT IN MAY?

Daily high temperatures tend to be near 20-21 C (70 F) early in the month, warming to 23-25 C (the mid to upper 70s F) near the end of the month. 

A few of the afternoons can warm up into the low to mid 27-29 C (around the 80s F). 

Late nights and early mornings in May tend to be on the cool side but afternoons and early evenings will be comfortable to occasionally warm.

Average Temperatures in Rome in May

Daily low temperatures gradually increase during the month from near about 10 C (50 F) early in the month to 13 -14 C (the mid-50s F) near the end of the month.

A few of the colder mornings, early in the month, can dip down to around 6 C-7 C (into the mid-40s F)

You can expect about 17-20 days during May to be sunny or at least partly sunny.

Daylight continues to increase this month from just over 14 hours on May 1st to about 15 hours by the 31st.

About 4-5 days will experience at least 1 mm (0.04 inches) of rain but only about 1 day will receive 10 mm (0.4 inches) or more of rain.

WHAT TO WEAR IN ROME DURING MAY

Spring weather prevails in Rome this month with generally comfortable temperatures.

There will be a couple of chilly nights contrasted by several warm afternoons. We've listed some essentials to pack below:

Long pants, jeans, and skirts are recommended this month.
