July in Boston means that it is summertime with warm temperatures, some humidity but not too many muggy hot days.
Daytime high temperatures generally average in the low 80s F (27 C to 28 C) with a couple of the warmer afternoons reaching into the low 90s F (32 C to 33 C).

Late night and early morning lows tend to be in the mid-60s F (18 C to 19 C) with a few of the cooler mornings dipping down into the upper 50s F (14 C to 15 C).
The record low temperature recorded in Boston during July was 50 F (10C).
Overall during July, you should expect about 4-6 days to reach or exceed 90 F (32C) while the all-time record high for Boston was 103 F (39.4C).
Along with the warm temperatures comes some humidity with about 7- 12 days likely to feel hot and humid.
HOW MUCH SUN & RAIN?
About 19 days this month will be sunny or at least partly sunny with measurable rain falling on 9-10 days.
Heavy rains of at least 0.5 inches (12.7mm) or more, however, only occur on 2-3 days.

Although daylight hours start to decrease this month there will still be ample time to explore this historic city.
You can expect over 15 hours of daylight early in the month, decreasing to about 14.5 hours by the end of the month.
In short, July is the best month of the year to take a walking tour.
