A few of the warmer afternoons, especially later in the month, can reach up to near 14 C (57 F).

Late night and early morning lows will tend to be around -2 to -3 C (28-27 F) early in the month, warming to -1 to 0 C (30-32 F) near the end of the month.

Sky and Precipitation
You can expect 11-12 sunny, or at least partly sunny days during February and 16-17 mostly cloudy days.
About 6-8 days record some precipitation with some snow on around 2 days of the month.
Total snowfall for the month tends to be light at 4-6 cm (1.6-2.4 inches) but can at times total up to 18 cm (7 inches).

The number of daylight hours increases during the month from about 9.6 hours on the 1st to 11.0 hours by the 28th.

What to Wear in Budapest during February?
Winter in Budapest is cold so you should pack warm layers that include a thick, waterproof coat or thickly lined jacket.
Winter clothing including leggings and thermal underwear will come in handy, as well as warm water-resistant boots, leggings, or thermal underwear.
In addition, bring along warm socks, a scarf, hat, and gloves. Don’t forget to bring some comfortable walking shoes!

If you do manage to visit on a snowy day, there's no better time to take a free Budapest walking tour.
Don't pass up the opportunity to experience the most historic sites in the city as they are blanketed in snow!
Another great idea during the month of February is to look for a winter salami (téliszalámi), as they are typically made during this period of the year.
You might also want to consider relaxing at the Széchenyi Thermal Baths, as they have heated indoor pools to enjoy during the winter months.
