How is the Weather in Budapest During November?

November in Budapest tends to be cold to very cold with a risk for snow.

Daytime highs tend to be near 10-12 C (50-54 F) early in the month, falling to around 6-8 C (43-46 F) near the end of the month. A few of the warmer afternoons, especially early in the month, can reach up near 16 C (61 F).

Late night and early morning lows tend to be around 4-6 C (39-43 F) early in the month, falling to 0-2 C (32-36 F) near the end of the month. A few of the colder mornings, especially later in the month, can dip down around -6 C (21F).

The record low temperature in Budapest during November is -11.9 C (10.6 F).


Sky and Precipitation

You can expect about 12-14 sunny, or at least partly sunny days and 16-18 mostly cloudy days. About 6-8 days record some rain or snow with snow occurring on 4-5 of those days.

Total snowfall in Budapest during November generally ranges from less than 1 cm to about 4 cm, but on rare occasions, can reach 10 cm.

The number of daylight hours decreases this month from 10 hours on the 1st to only 8.8 hours by the 30th.


Windspeed

Mostly light to gentle winds prevail this month at 6-19 kph (4-12 mph) but can occasionally be moderate at 20-28 kph (13-18 mph).


What to Wear in Budapest during November?

Budapest in November is cold, so you should wear warm clothes and dress in layers. Best to bring some sweaters, thick socks, a warm coat, a warm hat with gloves and a scarf.

In addition, water resistant boots and some leggings or thermal underwear may also come in handy. Don’t forget to bring some comfortable walking shoes!

Although it might be a bit chilly, there will still be free Budapest walking tours available this month for those who feel like braving the cold.

This is also the month when Christmas markets begin to open up, so if you're feeling a bit festive, consider doing a little early holiday shopping!
