Budapest in October features comfortable afternoons with cool to cold nights.


Temperatures

Daytime high temperatures tend to average around 18-20 C (64-68 F) early in the month, falling to 12-15 C (54-59 F) near the end of the month.

A few of the warmer afternoons, especially early in the month, can reach up near 25 C (77 F).

Late night and early morning lows tend to average around 9-10 C (48-50 F) early in the month, falling to 3-6 C (37-43 F) near the end of the month.

During October, you can expect about 15-16 sunny, or at least partly sunny days with an equal number of mostly cloudy days.

On average, about 5-6 days will record some rainfall.

Windspeed

Mostly light to gentle winds prevail this month at 6-19 kph (4-12 mph) but can occasionally be moderate at 20-28 kph (13-18 mph).


What to Wear in Budapest in October?

Temperatures continue to fall this month so fall attire works best along with a medium-weight jacket or coat.

Also bring along a couple of sweaters, as well some long-sleeve tops and long pants.

Don’t forget to bring some comfortable walking shoes; in the old town, the streets are cobbled and unsuitable for high heels.


Things to Do in Budapest in October

Although the weather won't be as nice this month as during other periods of the year, it might still be a good time for a pay-what-you-wish Budapest walking tour, especially if the sun is out!

If you're a fan, this is an excellent opportunity to see the band perform live.

Although it's not traditionally a Hungarian holiday, some in Budapest do celebrate Halloween.
