The Weather in Las Vegas in July

Updated: April 23, 2024

This post summarizes the July weather in Las Vegas, with tips on what to wear, as well as things to do.

As local tour guides, we know that July is one of the best times for walking tours, because there's usually a lot of great, sunny weather.

And I am not just a tour guide. I'm also a retired meteorologist who has found a new way to put my experiences to work.

July in Las Vegas is very hot and dry, however, a slight increase in humidity later this month.

What rain that does fall, is more likely to occur later in the month.

What to Wear in Las Vegas in July

Summer in Las Vegas can be very hot with a large range in temperature between the mild early morning hours and the very hot mid-afternoons.

Light summer attire is recommended such as shorts, sandals, skirts, T-shirts, sundresses, and tank tops but keep in mind there are specific dress codes for casinos, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.

Don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses, and a good pair of walking shoes.

Things to Do in Las Vegas in July

At this point in the season, it will probably be a bit too hot outside for a pay-what-you-wish walking tour of Las Vegas, but some visitors might still enjoy this activity.

If you're looking for more indoor activities, there will be plenty of great concerts to attend throughout the month.

You may also want to consider looking into theatrical shows such as Cirque du Soleil.

Alternatively, there are a lot of famous magicians who perform in Las Vegas year-round, and you'll probably have plenty of opportunities to see well-known performers like Criss Angel and David Copperfield.

This city also tends to attract a lot of well-known comedians throughout the year, and some comics like Carrot Top and Terry Fator have permanent residences in Las Vegas.
