During May, Lisbon will feature about 17 mostly sunny, 4 partly sunny, and about 10 mostly cloudy days.

You can also expect that 9-10 days will record some rainfall.

Lisbon lies along the Atlantic coast and has several stunning nearby beaches, however, ocean temperatures this month remain quite chilly at 60-62 F.


What to Wear in Lisbon in May?

Spring weather prevails this month in Lisbon with some warmer summer-like days likely later in the month so best to dress for comfortable afternoons but chilly nights.

A mix of clothes this month makes sense which can include jeans and long pants, both warm and light-weight shirts and tops, a lightweight jacket or windbreaker plus a sweater or two.

Wear sensible shoes as the cobblestone streets can be slippery when wet.

An umbrella will also come in handy during those wet days. 


Things to Do in Lisbon in May

There should be plenty of warm, sunny days to enjoy this spring, so you might want to consider going on a pay-what-you-wish walking tour of Lisbon in May.

This is also the perfect time of year to catch a futbol game, as SL Benfica will have at least 3 matches to see this month.

Alternatively, you might also want to see if there are any good concerts or theatrical events to attend.

Well-known and beloved Taylor Swift will be performing live at the Estádio da Luz on May 24th, 25th 2024.
