There are several companies offering night bus tours. Many offer day tours as well.

Some of these night tours are included for free with the purchase of a 24 or 48-hour ticket or part of a tourist attraction discount card, such as the London Pass, so be sure to check before purchasing.  



Also, if you are in London at the peak of the summer, keep in mind that much of the tour will be in daylight and twilight as opposed to nighttime. 

See London By Night

See London By Night offers open-top, double-decker bus exploration! This is not a hop-on-hop-off ride and lasts 90 minutes.

Departures are roughly every 30 minutes from 21:30 (7:30 pm) until 22:15 (10:15 pm).

Wrap up warm as you speed around town, taking in the brightest lights in the city at places like Piccadilly Circus, Harrods, and Big Ben.

Guided commentary will keep you entertained and informed throughout.

This company focuses solely on night tours and is well-reviewed on TripAdvisor and Get Your Guide (read the reviews).

This is the most inexpensive option if you are looking for a double-decker and aren’t planning on purchasing a multi-day pass.

London Bar Bus

There are several great tours you can take after dark in London, but most of them don’t include any opportunities to stop and grab a drink.



If you’re interested in doing some sightseeing, but you’d also like to visit a pub, the London Bar Bus is an excellent alternative.

This bus tour includes an open-air rooftop bar where you can get a variety of cocktails and brews while seeing notable landmarks like the Tower Bridge and the River Thames.

The tour starts a bit earlier than most night outings, so this might be a good option for earlier in the evening.

  • Hours: 4 pm & 6:30 pm

Big Bus Tours 

Big Bus offers a nightly hop-on-hop-off bus tour.  The buses depart from Westminster Bridge at 7:30 pm, 8:00 pm and 8:30 pm.  

The first two buses are hop-on-hop-off and you can join the tour at any of the tours’ 11 stops. You can download the stop schedule and map on their night tour page.  

The 8:30 bus is a full circuit. If you stay on the entire time, the full circuit is just over 1 hour long.  

Big Bus is a well-reviewed bus tour operator.

Golden Tours – London by Night

Like Big Bus’s 8:30 pm tour, Golden Tours offers a nightly open-top, double-decker night tour.  

You can’t hop-on and hop-off and the circuit takes 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete.  Tours depart at 7 pm and 8 pm daily.

Ticket Prices 7 pm:

TipLondon Pass holders are entitled to a 30% discount.

4D Ghost Hunters Bus Tour 

A very unique night tour that combines a traditional ghost stories tour with state of the art ghost hunting technology. 

The tour takes place most days at 18:00 (6 pm) with additional times in the high season and lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes. 

The tour is not recommended for children under 12 due to the content.  

Some of the sights that will be investigated include Westminster Palace, Buckingham Palace, London Bridge, and Kensington Palace.

Every purchase of at least a 48 hr hop-on-hop-off bus tour also includes the night bus tour for free.

On its own, the night bus tour is £25 for adults.

The 48-hour hop-on-hop-off service is £40.50, which means that 2 days of transportation to popular locations is only £15.50.

This is a great deal if you’re also interested in seeing all the major sites during the day.

The Original London Sightseeing Tour

When you buy tickets for their night bus tour (£10), you have the option to add-on either a 24 or 48-hour hop-on-hop-off bus ticket (£20.50 or £30 respectively).

This is a great alternative to Big Bus if you don’t feel like paying for a full 24 hour bus tour.
