The sharing economy has started making it easier to find accommodation for yourself and your luggage!

A few companies have created systems that let you find a local place that will store your bag for a few hours or a few days.

Vertoe is America’s largest on-demand short-term luggage storage platform with a presence in over 20 major cities and 300+ locations in the US.

Vertoe’s rates are among the cheapest in Miami at $5.95 per bag per day and many of the spaces are open 24/7.

Luggage Storage Options in Miami

They offer a very generous $5,000 in insurance and provide complimentary tamper-proof security seals upon check-in.

Major transit spots are covered with Miami Airport, Miami Beach, and South Beach to name a few.

You can book in advance and cancel for a full refund anytime. Click here to find Vertoe locations.

Additional Companies

Several other companies offer similar services.

It’s worth taking a look into all the options before booking – you might find something more convenient or with a better fringe benefit.

Nannybag Luggage Storage

Nannybag is another great company that offers locations throughout Miami at affordable prices.

It costs just $6 per bag for the first 24 hours and $4 per bag for each additional day.

Reservations and payments are made through their website and there is no fee for canceling as long as your reservation time has not started.

If you have any issues, you can reach their customer service from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm (19:00).

Stasher, like Nanny Bag, is a European company making inroads in the North American Market.

One feature that stands out is that they claim most of their locations are open 24 hours a day.

$6/day/bag. $5/day/bag for each additional day. $1200 in insurance.

Luggage Lounge

Planning to spend the day on South Beach with nowhere to store your luggage? Luggage Lounge has you covered.

  • Personal items $5
  • Carry-ons $8
  • Checked bags $10
  • Oversized Bags $12+

Located on South Beach between Collins and Washington Avenues, this Lounge not only offers luggage storage, but also free WiFi and luggage weighing.

Their prices are higher than the Airbnb-style companies listed above.

Bag Boys Miami

Want to make the most of your time in Miami without having to find a luggage storage location and then go to retrieve them later?

Bag Boys Miami will pick up your bags from any Miami airport, train station, hotel, vacation rental, or ship port, hold them for you, and deliver them back to any of the previously mentioned locations!

  • $28 for 2 carryon-sized bags, $9 for each additional bag
  • $28 for each oversized item
  • $15 overnight storage fee

They aren’t the cheapest service, but they will pick up and drop off 24 hours a day.

Due to liability concerns, Cruise Lines generally no longer hold your luggage before or after your cruise.

If you arrive in Miami early be sure to check with the porters, who are usually there at 8:00 am to take your luggage (on the same day of your cruise).

Check with your specific cruise line for more details.

Fortunately, Vertoe has a location near the Port of Miami to assist in all your luggage storage needs.

Ship to Shore Program

Big Bus Miami offers a Ship to Shore Program where the package price includes pick up at your cruise terminal, luggage storage, full access to all their hop-on-hop-off bus loops, and transfer to Miami or Fort Lauderdale Airport.

NOTE: The following cruise lines are currently participating in this program: MSC Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Cruises. It’s advised to contact the cruise line directly to make a reservation.

Unfortunately, TSA no longer allows storage lockers at airports in the United States, but luckily there are companies providing manned storage services in the terminals.

Luggage Storage at Airports

You can always call your airline and see how early you can check a bag, as some will allow you to check luggage hours before your flight.

Fortunately, there is a storage company located within each airport where you can leave your bags.

Fort Lauderdale- Hollywood International Airport

Bags To Go is located in all four terminals and is open from 9:00 am – 5:30 pm Friday – Monday. Note that it is only open in Terminal 2 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

The cost per bag is $8.00 with a maximum of 30 days of storage. You must pay in cash.

Miami International Airport

There is a baggage storage/checkroom located in Terminal E on the 2nd Level. It is open daily from 5: 00 am – 9:00 pm.

Daily rates are subject to baggage size but range from $6-$19. For more information call 305-869-1163.

This option is useful if you’re visiting a museum with small carry-ons or backpacks.

The Perez Art Museum Miami requires visitors to check backpacks of any size, shopping bags, handbags 9 x 14 inches or larger, and umbrellas.

Free luggage storage is available to all museum visitors, as available.

The following museums will hold your luggage for free:

These options are not very flexible and you must take your bags with you when you leave the museum. Why not check out the Airbnb-style option above?
