HOW COLD IS AMSTERDAM IN MARCH?
March in Amsterdam tends to be cold but occasionally can be mild as spring begins to take hold.
Daytime high temperatures will be mostly in the mid-40s F (7C - 8C) early in the month, warming into the lower 50s F (10C -11C) near the end of the month.

A few of the warmer afternoons, particularly near the end of the month can reach up into the lower 60s F (16C - 17C).
The record high temperature in Amsterdam during March is 70F/21C.
Late night and early morning low temperatures generally will be in the mid-30s F (1C - 2C) early in the month but more likely to be in the upper-30s F (3C - 4C) near the month’s end.
A few of the colder mornings, especially during the first half of the month, can dip down into the mid-20s F (-3C to -4C).
On average about 7 days will experience temperatures dipping down to 32F/0C or less.
The record low temperature in Amsterdam during March is 18F/-8C.
HOW MUCH SUN OR RAIN?
Cloudy or mostly cloudy skies will prevail on about 17-19 days which still leaves 12-14 days with sunny or at least partly sunny skies.
Some rain can be expected on about 15-16 days, however, only about 7-8 days will record at least 1 mm (.04 inches) or more.
About 19 days will have some fog. Some snow and ice can occur in March, however, significant accumulations are rare.

Daylight hours increase rapidly throughout this month from 10.9 hours on March 1st to nearly 13 hours by the 31st.
Wind conditions during March vary mostly from gentle to moderate at 8-18 mph (12-18 kph) but occasionally can be fresh at 19-24 mph (29-38 kph) with higher gusts.

March tends to be cool and breezy in Amsterdam but can be mild at times.
You'll want to pack warm clothes, including sweaters, long-sleeved sweats, and a winter-proof coat or jacket.

You may also wish to bring along an umbrella, some boots, and warm socks.
