On a few of the warmer days, the high temperatures can briefly reach into the upper 80sF (30-31C) with about 2 days, on average reaching 90F (32C) or more.
During past years, June has seen extremes as high as 101F (38.3C) and as low as 44F (6.7C).
Sunny or at least partly sunny skies prevail on about 20 days this month so it is a great time for outdoor activities, such as our free walking tours.

June is the beginning of summer in the city so you should dress for comfort as most days will be warm. We've made a list below of what to pack when visiting New York in June:
1. Light Clothes
Comfortable, breathable clothes are best. Sundresses, shorts, and cotton tops are best. Pack sunscreen, a water bottle, and a hat as well.
Early June can still have some cool nights, so a light sweater or windbreaker will come in handy. A
cardigan like this one by LaLaBEE is great for going from daytime to evening dinner.
It will also come in handy in case a museum you are visiting is extra cold!
3. Comfortable Shoes
You need to pack comfortable shoes for all the walking you'll be doing in New York in June.
We recommend a comfortable sandal like this one by Teva. It's also waterproof, so if you're caught in some showers you won't have to worry about soggy shoes!
