August in Boston features mostly warm afternoons and early evenings with comfortable late evenings and early mornings.

Afternoon high temperatures tend to be in the lower 80s F (27-28 C) early in the month falling into the mid to upper 70s F (24-26 C) near the end of the month.

A few of the warmer afternoons can reach up into the lower 90s F (32-33 C) with 2-3 days likely reaching at least 90 F (about 32 C).

The all-time record high temperature in Boston during August is 102 F (38.9 C).

Late evenings and early morning temperatures tend to be in the mid to upper 60s F (19-20 C) early in August but fall into the mid-lower 60s F (17-18 C) towards the end of the month.

A few of the cooler mornings near the end of the month can see temperatures dip down into the mid-50s F (12-13 C).

The all-time record low temperature for Boston during August is 47 F (8.3 C).

August days can range from humid to comfortable so expect about 7-12 days, on average, being humid or muggy while 10-16 days will likely be comfortable to dry.
