    • Mei Lai Wah - This dim sum bakery has been THE go to spot for baked buns since the late 1960’s.

    • Doyers St - Known as “Murder Alley” in 1900, this now quaint street is famous for its murals and restaurants.

    • Church of the Transfiguration—Completed in 1801, this little church has been a center of worship for the immigrant groups in the neighborhood for over 200 years.
    • Columbus Park- formerly the dangerous stomping ground know as Five Points, now filled with locals strumming Ruans or card gambling.

Join Tours by Foot as we visit historic Mott and Mulberry Streets, where you will learn about what life was like for immigrants in the 1800s, visit mobster movie/TV locales, peek into hidden Buddhist temples and see the latest in street art all while refining your palate with delectable treats.

You'll sample delicious delights like authentic Chinese pork buns, savory fried dumplings, real New York-style pizza and Italian pastries like cannoli. Grab a Bubble Tea if you'd like!

Along the way, explore two of the oldest neighborhoods in Manhattan and discuss the rich history of it all.

The tour includes 5 food stops:

  • Char Siu Bao (roast pork buns). Vegetarians can try the delicious plain baked buns or coconut-filled buns. Hands down the best in NYC!
  • Fried dumplings and sesame pancakes that will satisfy your stomach and go easy on your wallet.
  • Bubble tea or exotic juices to wash everything down.
  • Thin-crust pizza slice with rich tomato sauce and splotches of fresh mozzarella cheese from a top-rated pizzeria.
  • Cannoli from the Cannoli King of Little Italy, or other Italian pastry from a century-old Italian pasticceria.

Tour Information

  • Tour begins at the Chinatown Information Kiosk at the intersection of Baxter Street and Canal Street (map).
  • The tour ends at Nolita Pizza at 68 Kenmare Street between Mott and Mulberry Sts. (map).
  • Tour lasts 2 hours. Total walking distance is about 1 mile (2km).
