How to Get to Coney Island

WHERE IS CONEY ISLAND IN NYC?

Coney Island is located on the southern tip of Brooklyn, approximately 1 hour by subway from Times Square. 

From Times Square, it takes 1 hour to get to Coney Island by subway.

Subway to Coney Island

By subway, take the Q line, F line, or D line to station "Coney Island- Stillwell Avenue". 

The subway station is just a 5-minute walk away from the subway to the most famous Coney Island sites.

Ferry to Coney Island

Beginning in 2023, the East River Ferry is supposed to be transporting passengers to Coney Island.

It's planned to sail from Pier 11 at Wall Street and takes approximately 37 minutes to get to Coney Island.

Its fare is scheduled to be ($4.00) and is a much more pleasant ride than the subway! Get your tan started before arriving at Coney Island.

As of March 2024, the launch of this new route is postponed indefinitely.

Events and Things to Do on Coney Island

Coney Island offers a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy.

You can relax on the sandy beach, take a thrilling ride on the iconic Cyclone roller coaster, indulge in delicious boardwalk treats, and explore amusement parks like Luna Park.

Additionally, you can visit the New York Aquarium or catch a baseball game at MCU Park.
