Best Cheap Hotels in Las Vegas

Updated: September 14, 2023

When people think of Las Vegas, many think of money. Lots of it. But when it comes to hotels, you don't need to spend a lot.

Here are our picks for the best cheap hotels in Las Vegas with great amenities, excellent entertainment, and of course, casinos.

BEAST CHEAP LAS VEGAS HOTELS

When you see some of the rates below, you may not believe what you see! Rooms for $25 a night? How is that possible?

Well, there are two reasons.

First, many of the cheap Las Vegas hotels and resorts make most of their profit from in-house casinos.

Thus, they can afford to offer cheap room rates which lure guests who then spend their money on the casino floor.

Second, prices don’t always reflect resort fees. Resort fees are essentially additional charges tacked onto your room bill for the use of things like swimming pools or WiFi.

The rates mentioned in this post do not include resort fees, so be sure to check each hotel for this 'hidden' cost before you get your heart set on a particular hotel.

One important thing to note is that prices change in high season or when a big event or convention is in town.

A word of advice -- always book in advance to lock in these shockingly good deals!

Luxor Hotel and Casino

This iconic pyramid-shaped hotel has rates starting from $20-$35 per night. This makes it comparable to competitors.

One thing the competition can't beat -- where else can you stay in an Ancient Egypt-themed hotel?

The Luxor is on the Strip so its location is convenient, but since there is a large casino at the hotel, you don’t need to go anywhere else if you don't want to.

The Luxor also has a 24-hour fitness center, four outdoor pools, a spa with hot tubs, a hair salon, and more.

You can dine and drink at 11 restaurants, four bars/lounges, two coffee shops and even a poolside bar.

The Luxor all-you-can-eat buffet is open only from 8 am to 3 pm, for breakfast/brunch, but the cost is among the cheapest and the food is pretty good.

In-house shows you can buy tickets for are  Blue Man Group, Carrot Top, and America’s Got Talent.

TIP: The Go City Las Vegas Pass includes admission to most (if not all) of these shows and attractions at no extra cost.

Sahara Las Vegas Hotel & Casino

The 4-star stylish Sahara has low rates that revolve around dates. Sometimes you can find rates as low as  $10-$15.

But during peak seasons or when special events are in town, you may see rates as high as $1,000 a night. So book way in advance!

Besides a casino, 6 restaurants, 2 bars/lounges, a fitness center, and a spa, the hotel has a luxurious pool with poolside bars.

Dine at Bazaar Meat by José Andrés which as the name indicates, is all about meat. Have a Wagyu steak or a sloppy joe. If you are a carnivore, you will love Bazaar Meat.

Afterward, take in a show like Magic Mike, then hit the casino floor.

The Linq Hotel and Casino

The room rates at this 4-star hotel are surprisingly low, with rates dropping as low as $30 per night.

The location is fantastic. It’s on the Linq Promenade, filled with restaurants and shops, though you need not leave the hotel to eat as there are 6 restaurants at the Linq.

Fun attractions like the landmark 550-foot tall High Roller Observation Wheel and the Fly Linq Zipline are right there.

Like most, if not all, of the hotels on this list, the Linq has a spa, a fitness center, and a pool. Note that guests must be over 21 to use the pool at the hotel.

Families have access to the pool at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino located within 3 minutes walking distance from the Linq.

Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino

This hotel and casino have a lot to offer besides weekday rates that can range between $10-$30 per night. (Weekend rates can be a lot higher).

The central location on the Strip makes it easy for you to walk to most places. It's a family-friendly hotel.

Unlike the Linq, the Flamingo has a family-friendly Beach Club with a pool with a water slide and waterfalls.

Meanwhile over at the Caribbean-style "GO Pool",  it's 21+ only with entertainment as well.

The Flamingo has 3 bars,  3 restaurants and an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Entertainers at the hotel include RuPaul’s Drag RaceWayne Newton and Piff the Magic Dragon,

Looking for some time away from the bright lights of Vegas? Stroll the hotel’s 15-acre nature resort with lush greenery, waterfalls and wildlife habitat where flamingos roam.

Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino Las Vegas

The lowest rates at the Golden Nugget range from $40-$70 on average. Even on peak dates, the rate normally won't reach over $200 a night.

Besides the on-site casino, there are nine restaurants and a nightclub.

You can shop at the designer stores, relax in the sauna and hot tubs, and enjoy other amenities.

One of the pools has an enclosed water slide that passes through the middle of a shark tank! Or you can skip the sharks and stick to the adults-only pool.

The Golden Nugget’s location is good too. It is also within walking distance of the Mob Museum and the Neon Museum and is close to the Fremont Street Experience.

MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

With rates running from $35-$55 per night, luxurious rooms, two top restaurants and one of the best nightclubs in Vegas, make the MGM a great pick among cheap hotels.

It should be said, though, that sometimes prices can reach over $1,000 per night, so be sure to make reservations well ahead of your dates to lock in the lowest prices.

What do you get for your money at the MGM Grand? Quite a lot! First off, it's home to fantastic entertainment, including Cirque du Soleil, David Copperfield, and the Jabbawockeez

Next up is the 6.5-acre Wet Republic Ultra Pool complex with 4 pools, waterfalls, whirlpools, and lazy rivers. The deck, with an all-star lineup of DJs, is a popular place to party.

Take the pool party to the day club, nightclub, sports lounge, whiskey bar, or Top Golf.

Among the 17 restaurants are top eateries Wolfgang Puck and Morimoto. The MGM Grand all-you-can-eat buffet is one of the best in Vegas.

Rio All-Suite Resort & Casino

This is another of the great budget hotels in Las Vegas, with rates starting at about $10 per night and running up to around $30. The lower cost is due to the fact that it is not on the Strip.

But it is the home to the wildly popular World Series of Poker tournament, so if you know ‘when to hold ‘em, know when to fold them’, stay here.

For the price, you get lots of nice amenities, including free parking!

There is a casino on-site as well as a nightclub. In-house entertainment includes the Penn & Teller show.

You can enjoy the VooDoo Beach which features four swimming pools, including one pool for adults only.

Eat at 11 restaurants, and grab drinks from three bars/lounges or swim up to the bar in an outdoor pool.

Treasure Island - TI Las Vegas Hotel Casino, a Radisson Hotel

With rates starting from $49, free parking, and a pirate theme, Treasure Island is a great cheap hotel, especially for those traveling with kids.

Speaking of kids, the Marvel's Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is at Treasure Island. Read more about this attraction or purchase tickets here.

There’s an on-site casino, and for more entertainment visit the spa, sing karaoke and chill out at the nightclub with a live DJ.

If you like country music and line dancing, head to Gilley's Saloon, a country bar that offers free dance classes throughout the week.

As if all of this wasn't enough to do, Treasure Island is right smack in the center of the Strip so you are next to the action.

Within walking distance is the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat, while the Bellagio Fountains are a slightly longer walk at just under a mile away.

Excalibur Hotel & Casino

With rates of $20-$30 per night, this family-oriented hotel and casino on the Strip is among the best deals in Las Vegas.

The Excalibur has a medieval theme (think King Arthur). In line with its theme, the on-site entertainment is a dinner/show spectacular, the Tournament of Kings.

There’s a casino on-site for grown-ups and the Fun Dungeon arcade for kids. Take a dip in the hotel’s four pools (one has a waterslide, and one is adults only).

Thirteen restaurants are located at the hotel. The all-you-can-eat buffet at the Excalibur is affordable and quite good, though it is only open from 8 am to 3 pm.

Best Western Plus Casino Royale - Center Strip

The name says it all -- it's on the Center Strip (across from the Mirage Volcano) and it's got a casino.

Rates at this reliable chain hotel start from $90, which is clearly higher than the other hotels on this list. But that is because it does not charge resort fees, while some in this list do.

Check out our list of Las Vegas hotels with no resort fees.

One big perk is that they have free parking, which is not as common as you think, so you'll save money right there.

Other amenities include free WiFi, a heated outdoor pool, and more. While there are only two restaurants, many dining options are located close by.

There are plenty of attractions nearby, such as the Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage, Madame Tussauds at the Venetian, and the High Roller at the LINQ.

It's also about 1 1/2 miles from the Las Vegas Convention Center if you are in town for a special event.

Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park

This Las Vegas hotel has rates as low as $39. Like other hotels on this list, Circus Circus has a casino.

But unlike other hotels, it has the exciting Adventuredome, an indoor theme park with a large rollercoaster! More fun can be had at the Carnival Midway arcade.

Circus Circus is fantastic for families who want time away from the slots.

It has a 50-foot water slide, two pools, a splash pad playground for kids, and hot tubs for adults.

There are 6 restaurants, an all-you-can-eat buffet and 40,000 square feet of shopping at the Promenade.

As it is located at the north end of the Strip, you'll have to take a taxi or Uber to get to some of the key attractions. But if you have your own car, Circus Circus has free parking.

Strat Hotel, Casino & Tower

Rates are as low as $24 at this hotel located midway between the Strip and  Downtown Las Vegas.

The Strat is home to the iconic 1,149-foot Stratosphere Tower, which offers breathtaking views of the city from the top.

Dine at the Top of the World rotating restaurant on the tower, 800 feet above the city with an incredible rotating 360-degree view.

Some more sky-high activities include the free-fall Sky Jump, Big Shot where you shoot 160 feet in the air at 45 mph.

Ride Insanity, where you spin at 3 Gs while dangling from the Tower and X-scream a rollercoaster teetering over the edge of the Tower from 866 feet high on X-Scream.

The STRAT has 2 swimming pools, one of which is adults only and is on the 25th floor offering panoramic skyline views of the city and the mountains surrounding Vegas.

Eat at several dining options, head to the shopping center, and of course, visit the very large 80,000-square-foot casino.

One downside of the Strat is that it is 2 miles from the city center. But if you like soaring to great heights and spending time on the casino floor, the Strat is for you.
