This post is about tips on visiting Edge, an observation deck suspended in mid-air above Hudson Yards in Manhattan.

Edge is open every day 365 days a year from 10 am - 10 pm.
Where is Edge?
At 30 Hudson Yards, one of NYC's newest neighborhoods, is on the west side of Midtown Manhattan at the southwest corner of 33rd Street and 10th Avenue, right on the bank of the Hudson River.

EDGE AT HUDSON YARDS TICKETS
There are two types of tickets: General Admission and Edge Flex Pass.
Both types of tickets include:
- 360-degree views of New York from the indoor deck on 100th floor
- access to the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere
- access to the thrilling Glass Floor, Angled Glass Walls, Skyline Steps, and Eastern Point
- a free digital souvenir photo
- unlimited time to visit
General Admission tickets give you a specific date/time slot that you can enter Edge.
The Edge Flex Pass allows you to enter at any time on your selected date.
There are add-ons available, like a glass of champagne for $16 and a personalized photo book for $22.

HOW TO SAVE ON THE COST OF EDGE TICKETS
Below are some ways to save some money on tickets for Edge.
Some of these may not currently be available so you should contact Edge to check.
1. NYC City Passes
Entry to Edge is free with the purchase of the New York Pass, Sightseeing Pass, and the Go City New York Explorer Pass.
In addition to Edge, both passes also include admission to One World Observatory, the Empire State Building, and Top of the Rock.

These passes work by bundling together dozens of attractions and tours into one money-saving price. They can save you up to 55% off of retail ticket prices.

3. Military Discount
Active and retired members of the U.S. military are eligible for reduced tickets.

4. New York City Residents
Get $2 off when you buy an adult ticket online.
5. Combo Packages
There are a few combo packages that allow you to save money by combining Hudson Yard Tickets with admission to other popular attractions in NYC:
- Edge + Statue of Liberty
- Edge + Rockefeller & Times Square Tour
- Edge + 9/11 Memorial Museum or Statue of Liberty
Make sure to compare prices, because while some combo packages will provide decent savings, others aren't as good of a deal.
6. Money-Saving Websites
You can sometimes find deals on tickets to Edge from websites like Groupon and LivingSocial.
Occasionally they run additional promotions that will get you an extra 10% - 20% the already reduced ticket price.
7. Senior Offer
Visitors who are over the age of 62 will be eligible for $2 off on all tickets. All you have to do is provide proof of your age.
8. Children
Parents with children between the ages of 6 - 12 can save an extra $5 on all tickets. Children 5 and under will be granted free entry.
9. Student Offer
Unfortunately, there currently is no special deal for students for Edge.
This could change in the future, and you should call and ask them before purchasing a ticket to make sure.
10. Teachers
There is no deal on tickets for educators at the moment, but that could change in the future.
Call ahead and ask about educator ticket deals just to make sure.
11. Ticket Holder Savings in Hudson Yards

WHY CHOOSE EDGE OBSERVATION DECK?
Before we get into ticket prices and ways to save, let's go over why you might choose Edge at Hudson Yards over the other observation decks in NYC, and why you should trust us.
Glass Floor
One thing Edge has that is unique among all the observation decks in New York City is the glass floor area you can walk across.
This might be a turn-off for some visitors, but luckily this feature only takes up a very small square built into the deck, so you don't have to walk over it or look down.
That said, if you're interested in the thrill, this is an excellent chance to see an incredible NYC view from over 1,000 feet above the street!
Panoramic Views of Other Notable Buildings
In addition to the elements that make Edge unique, you'll get unbelievable panoramic views of famous skyscrapers like the Empire State Building, One World Trade Center, and the Chrysler Building.
You can also see the Statue of Liberty and Central Park. If your eyes are good enough, you can even see parts of New Jersey!
Tickets Come with Savings at Hudson Yards
Each Edge ticket can be used for savings at the shops and restaurants of Hudson Yards.
Even if you're not planning to do much shopping, there are a few deals that include a free chocolate bar or brownie just for making one small purchase.
If you want a bite to eat or a cocktail before or after your visit to Edge, your ticket will save you some money.

CITY CLIMB TICKETS
If you're looking for an even more exhilarating experience from Edge, City Climb will take you higher up on the building than even the Edge observation deck!
In addition to having the opportunity to climb up the side of the skyscraper, you'll also have the chance to hang off the side of the building, suspended by a harness and kept safe by experienced staff members.
Although this activity is not for the faint of heart, it's one of the more exciting experiences in this city.

SKY SKATE AT EDGE
Glide across the ice at New York City's highest skating rink! This indoor 1,024-square-foot synthetic ice rink is open from November to January.
Skyskate offers the same views of the city as the Edge deck. Your ticket includes Edge admission and free skate rental.
The 2023-2024 season ran from November 15 to January 14, daily from 10 am to 8 pm.

RESTAURANTS BY EDGE OBSERVATION DECK
The Hudson Yards complex has plenty of retail, eateries, a champagne bar, and other amenities.
The many restaurants are a diverse mix of cuisines like Spanish tapas, Greek seafood, and Sushi.
There are also grab-and-go food shops like Pret a Manger, Sweetgreen, Shake Shack, and the kiosks of Mercado Little Spain.
FACTS ABOUT EDGE
What is the best time to go to Edge NYC?
The answer depends on one's preference. Some people visit Edge at sunrise or sunset to witness panoramic views and the hues of the sky.
Others prefer daytime for clear visibility and nighttime to get mesmerized by sparkling night and starry views.
It's also worth noting that this and other observation decks are usually much better during the summer months than in winter, as clouds and bad weather can impact whether or not you get the best view.
Is Edge better at day or night?
The daytime is better if you want to watch more city details with fewer crowds and sometimes cheaper tickets.
At night, you will enjoy an incredible view of the city with its glittering lights from the buildings, but with more crowds and higher ticket prices.
How long is the elevator ride to Edge NYC?
The elevator ride to Edge NYC is quick and takes about 60 seconds. The elevator has a digital screen that displays a virtual journey of NYC.
How long do people spend at Edge?
The average length of stay is 45 minutes to one hour at Edge, but there is no standard time limit.
You can stay as long as you want and enjoy the panoramic views from different angles and perspectives, take photos and videos, sit at the top of the Skyline Stairs and sip champagne, and shop for souvenirs,
Can you be late to Edge NYC?
You can be late to Edge NYC but might be delayed until the next available slot. You should arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled time to avoid any delay.

How many floors up is Edge?
Edge is on the 100th floor, located at 30 Hudson Yards, a skyscraper in Lower Manhattan. Edge is one of the highest sky decks worldwide.
How do I book Edge with a city pass?
A city pass is a ticket that offers you saves you money when you bundle multiple attractions into one pass.
To book a visit to Edge with a city pass, confirm your online reservation for Edge and bring both your city pass as well as reservation confirmation at the time of entrance.
