New Orleans Culinary History, Food, and Cocktail Tours
Attention foodies and history buffs. Free Tours by Foot is proud to now offer New Orleans culinary and cocktail history tours. This city is famous and popular for its food, from gumbo to jambalaya and po’ boys to etouffee. The city’s scrumptious food contains a lot of history, culture and spirit in addition to its many spices. There is so much more to discover when taking a bite, e.g. you can learn about the differences in Cajun and Creole styles. With one of the most diverse populations in the country, there’s always something new on the stove in the Big Easy just waiting to be devoured.
Like our walking tours, our New Orleans food & history tours are free to take, leaving you the opportunity determine what a tour was worth after the tour is over, even free. Unlike other food tours though, the food isn’t included and must be paid for by the guests (avg. $7/person). However, with traditional food tours charging $45 and up (plus tip), that’s at least a $38 difference.
So Join Free Tours by Foot on its culinary history adventures to feast your ears and eyes and inspire your appetite.
Our new cocktail tour spins off the concept of our culinary history tours, offering a view of the city through locally created drinks and the historic bars and characters who made them. Like the rest of our offerings, this tour is name-your-own-price, with the addition of a small up-front fee that covers three sample drinks; beyond that, we leave it to each guest to decide what else they’d like to try at each site we visit.
