Tour Guide Tell All

Updated: January 20, 2023

Professional Tour Guides in Washington DC share the true and sometimes scandalous stories from history, DC travel tips and hacks, hidden gems, and hilarious stories of what we've heard on tours.

Becca Grawl

HOST & LEAD RESEARCHER

Becca is a native Texan whose annual childhood treks to D.C. resulted in a lifelong love of our nation's capital.  After graduating from Randolph-Macon Woman's College (now Randolph College), she's pursued a decades-long career in public history and tourism.

Becca can be seen on Mysteries at the Museum on the Travel Channel, is a host and researcher for the Tour Guide Tell All podcast, and has been featured in local press outlets such as DCist, WAMU, Washingtonian, Washington City Paper, and more.

She is also the co-author of the 111 Places in Women's History in Washington, DC That You Must Not Miss guidebook, published in 2021.

When she's not leading tours, you can usually find her rooting for a local sports team or eating her way through the city.

Rebecca Fachner

HOST AND LEAD RESEARCHER

Rebecca Fachner has been a tour guide and historian for 13 years, in San Francisco, Philadelphia and for the last decade in Washington DC.

A trained historian, Rebecca brings a knowledge of history, a curiosity about the people and forces who have shaped our past and a love for Washington DC to every tour.

Rebecca is especially passionate about helping others to interact with history in a personal way; using humor, inspiration and trivia to forge connections and tell stories.

In addition to being a tour guide, Rebecca is part of the podcasting team behind the history pod Tour Guide Tell All.

Tour Guide Tell All is produced & edited (and sometimes cohosted) by Canden Arciniega.

Canden earned a BA in History from Elon University and Masters in History from University College London. She's originally from North Carolina but has been guiding in Washington, DC for nearly 10 years.

In addition to running DC by Foot (mostly from her cell phone while leading tours or taking her 2 kids on adventures around the city), Canden writes books about DC History and is an adjunct professor with Lutheran College Washington Semester program.

She has been featured on The Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, Washington Post, NPR, & BBC talking about Washington DC tourism.

Using her musician husband's in-home studio, Canden works behind the scenes with Tour Guide Tell All to edit, mix and do the admin-ing side of the podcast.
