HOW COLD IS AMSTERDAM IN APRIL?
Amsterdam in April tends to be cold to cool with a few warmer days, especially towards the end of the month.
Daily high temperatures will be mostly 10C-11C (50s F) early in April but will warm up to the mid to upper 13C-15C (50s F) near the end of the month.
A few of the warmer afternoons can reach up to the lower 70s F (21C-22C) later in the month with the all-time record high for Amsterdam in April being 27 C (80 F)
Late night and early morning low temperatures tend to be in the upper 30s F (3C to 4C) early in the month but warm into the low to mid-40s F (5C-7C) by month’s end.
About 3 days, on average, early in the month dip down to freezing (32F/0C) or below. The record low temperature in Amsterdam during April is 25F/-4C.
HOW MUCH SUN OR RAIN?
About half the days this month will feature sunny, or at least partly sunny skies.
About 12 days report some rainfall, however, only 7-8 days this month will report at least 1mm (0.04 inches) of rain.
Daylight hours increase rapidly this month from just over 13 hours on the first to nearly 15 hours by the 30th.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Although April is a bit warmer than March it still tends to be on the cold and breezy side but with some periods of warmer weather, especially near the end of the month.
You should bring a mix of winter and spring attire just in case. You should pack a couple of sweaters, at least one medium-weight jacket or coat as well as long-sleeved shirts and long pants.
You may also wish to bring along an umbrella or raincoat for the wet days.
Some spring attire like cotton shirts, pants or skirts, and a light jacket or windbreaker will do well during the warmer afternoons later in the month and don’t forget to bring along some comfortable walking shoes.
