The Weather in Washington, DC in June

AVERAGE JUNE TEMPERATURES

Early in June, morning low temperatures tend to be in the lower 60s F (15-17 C) with a few of the cooler mornings dipping into the mid-50s F (12-13C).

Afternoon highs early in the month tend to be near 80F (26-27C).

By the end of June, the afternoon high temperatures generally will reach the mid to upper 80s F (30-32 C) while the morning and evening lows will dip fall into the upper 60s F to near 70 F (20-21 C).

On a few of the warmer days, you should expect highs reaching up into the mid-90s F (34-35C) or more.

On average, about 6-7 days this month will likely reach or exceed 90F (32C).

Significant rainfalls of 1/2 inch (13 mm) or more, however, occur only on 2-3 days.

June is a great month to take a walking tour.

Winds tend to be light to moderate, averaging between 3 mph (5 kph) and 15 mph (24 kph) with gusts at times exceeding 20 mph (32 kph), especially in thunderstorms.
