In this post, I will provide information about how to get 1/3 off using the National Rail.
Previously the National Rail was offering 2-for-1 tickets to the Madame Tussauds which is now discontinued.
I will also include description of all the steps necessary to get this deal.
How to Get 1/3 off on Madame Tussauds Tickets
National Rail has a very popular 1/3 off program that offers concessions on tickets for some of the most popular attractions and activities in London, and Madame Tussauds is included in this offer.
All you have to do is purchase National Rail tickets to Madame Tussauds London and use the train to reach your destination, and you’ll be eligible for the deal.

We’ll go even further into detail below. Just follow these steps and you’ll get 1/3rd off on your ticket price!
1. Use Days Out Guide to Get Madam Tussauds Tickets
Days out guide now offer the Madam Tussauds tickets online for up to 6 people.
Tickets can be purchase online using the Days Out Guide website.
On the website, chose the number of people, date of visit and Nearest Station to the London Eye (London Marylebone) and copy the promo code given by the website.
Then click on "Book Now" option given below the promo code and use the code while buying the tickets on the official Madame Tussauds' website.
You just need to travel by train to the station chose by you while buying the online ticket and present the train ticket and your online tickets to get access to the Madame Tussauds.
2. Get a Valid National Rail Ticket
You’ll need to purchase one of the following specific ticket types in order to get 1/3rd off on Madame Tussauds tickets:
- Advance
- Anytime
- Off-Peak
- Season tickets
- Gatwick/Stanstead Express
- Travelcards (only at National Rail station)
- Printed/Mobile tickets with the National Rail logo
- National Rail issued smartcards
- Annual Gold Cards
- Gold Record Card
3. Get Your Tickets at a National Rail Station
If you’re going to take advantage of the Madame Tussauds 1/3rd off deal, it will be necessary to purchase your train tickets from an official National Rail station.
Tickets purchased on the London Underground are not eligible.
4. National Rail Tickets Must Be Used to Travel to Madame Tussauds
In order to get the Madame Tussauds 1/3rd off deal, the National Rail tickets you purchase must be used to travel to the attraction.
When you provide your voucher and train tickets, they will have to show that the arrival station was nearby. The closest train station is Marylebone.

5. Keep Your Train Tickets
Don’t just throw away your tickets after using them, because you will need them to prove that you used the National Rail to visit Madame Tussauds.
Should a National Rail employee ask for your ticket, make sure to tell them that you’re planning to use the tickets for the 1/3rd off deal and show them the voucher as well?
6. Print Your Madame Tussauds 1/3rd off Voucher
Use the Days Out Guide website to print out the 1/3rd off voucher for Madame Tussauds. You will need the voucher in order to get the deal.
Vouchers can be downloaded and printed out a few days in advance and do not need to be validated on the same day.
7. National Rail Tickets Must Be Purchased on the Same Day
You’ll need to get your National Rail tickets on the same day that you purchase Madame Tussauds tickets in order to be eligible for the 1/3rd off deal.
Weekly railcards can be used on any of the 7 days on which it is valid.
8. Some Attractions Will Have Blackout Dates
During busier times of the year, some major attractions such as Madame Tussauds will have blackout dates for the 1/3rd off deal.
On these dates, you won’t be able to take advantage of this deal.
As long as you’re planning to visit during the off-season, you should have nothing to worry about.
9. You Cannot Get Skip-The-Line Tickets
Due to the fact that you have to get your tickets on the day that you travel using National Rail, you’ll have to get in line for admission to Madame Tussauds and present both your voucher and tickets in order to get the 1/3rd off deal.
Since you won’t be able to skip the ticket line, it will be impossible to get “skip-the-line” tickets.
10. Oyster Cards Aren’t Eligible
If you want to take advantage of the Madame Tussauds 1/3rd off deal, you won’t be able to use an Oyster Card.
It will be necessary to purchase one of the other accepted ticket forms.
Things to Consider
Although this might seem like a lot of steps to follow, it’s actually pretty simple once you get the idea of how it works. Basically, you need 2 things:
- A Madame Tussauds 1/3 Voucher
- A National Rail Ticket to Madame Tussauds

The train tickets must be purchased on the same day that you plan to visit the attraction, they must be used to reach the attraction, and only certain ticket types are valid.
Present your voucher and train tickets at the Madame Tussauds ticket office to get the deal.
This deal is only valid for the standard attraction tickets at Madame Tussauds, which means you won't be able to get the additional benefits provided to VIP ticketholders.
Despite that limitation, you'll still have access to the entire wax museum and rub shoulders with your favourite celebrities and characters, including the Marvel Universe 4D Experience, an area full of Marvel super heroes and villains.
They also have other experiences and zones including the following:

If you're wondering whether or not it will take too long to stand in line for the 1/3rd off deal, it's actually pretty quick on most days.
Since they typically block out busy days anyway, you won't have much to worry about. The entire process really only takes about 10-15 minutes, so it’s definitely worth the effort.

No, they do not enforce a strict time limit, so feel free to explore at your own pace and see everything they have to offer!
How long does it take to get around Madame Tussauds London?
Most people will find it easy to experience everything at this wax museum in around 2 hours, but depending on your pace, you could spend up to 3 hours exploring the building.
Are you allowed to take photos in Madame Tussauds?
Yes, visitors are free to bring their own camera or smartphone and take photos with their favourite characters and celebrities!
