If you love going to the theater, Broadway Week is one of the best times of year to save money on Broadway tickets.
During this popular NYC theater promotion, you can get 2-for-1 tickets to participating Broadway shows, meaning you can buy two tickets for the price of one.
The next Broadway Week takes place September 8–20, 2026, and tickets go on sale August 18, 2026, at 10 AM ET. The official lineup of participating shows will also be announced on August 18.

I've taken advantage of Broadway Week for years, and in this guide I'll explain how Broadway Week works, how to get the discounted tickets, what shows are expected to participate, and what to do if you can't get the tickets you want.

WHAT IS BROADWAY WEEK?
Broadway Week is a twice-yearly promotion that gives theatergoers the chance to see participating Broadway shows at a significant discount.
The most popular Broadway Week offer is 2-for-1 tickets. You purchase two tickets to a participating performance and pay the equivalent of the price of one ticket.
That works out to a 50% discount per ticket, although the exact seats, performances, and availability vary by show.
In other words, two tickets cost the price of one, although the available seats, performances, and restrictions vary by show.
And despite the name, Broadway Week isn't actually just one week!
The promotion traditionally runs for about two weeks, giving visitors and New Yorkers plenty of opportunities to see a show.
Broadway Week typically takes place twice a year, with promotions in winter and fall.
If you're planning a trip to New York City around Broadway Week, it's a great opportunity to add a Broadway show to your itinerary without paying full price.

WHEN IS BROADWAY WEEK 2026?
The Fall 2026 Broadway Week runs from September 8–20, 2026.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 10 AM ET.
The official list of participating Broadway shows will also be announced on August 18.
If you're planning a September trip to New York City, mark both dates on your calendar:
- August 18: Broadway Week tickets go on sale
- September 8–20: Broadway Week performances
Individual shows may have different availability, dates, and restrictions, so check the details when you purchase your tickets.
HOW TO GET BROADWAY WEEK TICKETS
The easiest way to get Broadway Week tickets is through the official Broadway Week website.
OPTION 1: Use the Official Broadway Week Website
Go to the official Broadway Week website when tickets go on sale.
You'll be able to browse the participating shows and select the production and performance you want to see. From there, you'll be directed to the appropriate authorized ticket seller for that show.
Depending on the production, tickets may be sold through platforms such as Telecharge, Ticketmaster, Broadway Direct, or another authorized ticketing platform.
The Broadway Week offer should be displayed during the ticket-buying process.
Keep in mind: Not every seat or performance is necessarily available through the Broadway Week promotion. Participating shows may have limited inventory, blackout dates, or other restrictions.
OPTION 2: Go Directly to the Ticket Seller
You can also visit the official ticket seller for the Broadway show you're interested in.
If the Broadway Week promotion requires a promotional code, use the code provided through the official Broadway Week promotion.
I still recommend starting with the official Broadway Week website because it gives you an easy way to see which shows are participating and what offers are available.
BE READY WHEN TICKETS GO ON SALE
If there's a particular Broadway show you really want to see, don't wait until the last minute.
Popular shows can have limited availability during Broadway Week.
For Fall 2026, tickets go on sale August 18 at 10 AM ET, with the official lineup announced the same day.
Have a few different dates and shows in mind before tickets go on sale. That way, if your first choice isn't available, you have a backup plan.
WHAT SHOWS ARE PARTICIPATING IN BROADWAY WEEK?
The official Fall 2026 Broadway Week lineup will be announced on August 18, 2026, when tickets go on sale.
Until then, the following shows are expected to participate based on current Broadway Week information. This is not the official lineup, and participation may change before tickets go on sale.
- Aladdin
- The Book of Mormon
- Buena Vista Social Club
- Chicago
- The Great Gatsby

Important: Being on this expected list does not guarantee that a show will participate in the final Broadway Week promotion or that all performances will have 2-for-1 availability.
We'll update this list with the official Fall 2026 lineup as soon as it is announced.
WHAT IF I CAN'T GET BROADWAY WEEK TICKETS?
Don't panic!
Broadway Week tickets can be popular, and the 2-for-1 offer doesn't mean unlimited discounted tickets are available for every show, date, or performance.
If your first-choice show sells out—or doesn't have discounted tickets available for the dates you want—there are still plenty of ways to save money on Broadway tickets.
In fact, you can use several of these options throughout the year, whether or not Broadway Week is taking place.
OTHER WAYS TO GET CHEAP BROADWAY TICKETS
If you aren't visiting NYC during Broadway Week, or you can't find the tickets you want, there are several other ways to save money on Broadway shows.
These include:
- Broadway ticket lotteries
- Rush tickets

NYC ATTRACTION PASSES
Another option to consider is a New York City attraction pass, some of which may include discounts or special offers for Broadway shows.
If you're planning to visit several NYC attractions, an attraction pass can sometimes be a good way to save money overall. Broadway-related benefits vary by pass and can change, so check the current Broadway offers and terms before purchasing.

FINAL TIPS FOR BROADWAY WEEK
If you're hoping to take advantage of Broadway Week, keep these tips in mind:
Have a backup plan. Your first-choice show or preferred performance may not have discounted tickets available, so have a second or third choice in mind.
Be flexible with dates. You may have better luck finding 2-for-1 tickets for a Tuesday or Wednesday performance than for a Friday or Saturday night.
Check the details before paying. Participating shows may have different eligible performances, seating availability, and restrictions.
Don't wait too long. If there's a particular show you want to see, check for tickets as soon as they go on sale.
And most importantly, don't build your entire NYC vacation around getting a particular Broadway Week ticket. There are plenty of other ways to see Broadway at a discount if your first choice doesn't work out.
Enjoy the show!
